Division leaders are set to collide under the ESPN2 lights on Wednesday night when Manny Machado and the Orioles pay a visit to historic Fenway Park for a potential slugfest with David Ortiz and the Red Sox.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The O’s enter this series having some wind taken out of their sails after dropping three of four north of the Border against the Toronto Blue Jays. Though the squad enters this series on a three game losing streak, Buck Showalter’s squad is still the third best bet in all of baseball having made their wagering supporters a cool $968 overall. That said, most of the profits have been secured at home where they’re a .686 team. The story has been much different on the road where the clubs dropped 15 of 27 (-$144).

Boston returns home from a five game roady that took them through San Francisco and Minnesota. With Baltimore dropping three straight, winning three of the games was enough to tie them up with the O’s heading into Monday’s series opener. At 10 games over .500 for the season, John Farrell’s squad checks in as the sixth best bet in all of baseball with a $446 overall return on investment. Unlike Baltimore, the BoSox have been winners both on the road (17-14, $181) as well as at home (19-12, $265).

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Taking to the hill tonight for the visitors will be Tyler Wilson who will look to mimic or better the 6.2 innings of 3 ER ball he allowed the Red Sox back on May 30. Since then, he’s been ripped by both the Yankees and Blue Jays for a combined 14 hits and 10 ER with a 4:3 K/BB ratio. Baltimore has come out on top in just one of his four starts within the division to date. The set up for this one hardly bodes well for the righty, as he’s allowed 27 hits through 26.2 innings pitched away from Fenway and owns a 5.20 ERA in night games.

With Boston boasting the league’s No. 1 ranked scoring offense (5.95 runs per game), it’s allowed it to get away with marching out a less than impressive starting rotation. Even with David Price at the top of the list. Steven Wright has been a saving grace for this team with the veteran the only arm on the starting staff possessing an ERA south of 3.00 while allowing just 60 hits and 10 ER over the course of his 82 innings of work. He hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last two starts, and he’s 3-1 with a 3.07 ERA at Fenway. He stymied the O’s versus Wilson back on May 30 when he tossed a complete game four hitter to log his fifth win of the season.

LIVE BETTING

Manny Machado is currently appealing the four game suspension Major League Baseball issued him for his run-in with Yordano Ventura at the beginning of last week. The Orioles offense loses a major weapon with him out of the lineup, so make it a point to see if the team’s All-Star shortstop is a go for this series before placing any of your hard earned money in any of three game to be played in this series.

QUICK PICK

Baltimore owns a slim 4-3 advantage in these division rival’s meetings this season with the over cashing four times. When Wilson and Wright met earlier this season, the seven runs put on the scoreboard pushed the nine run closing total.

Even if Machado is unable to go in this one, I foresee more runs being put on the board this time around. Baltimore enters this series scoring an average of 5.0 runs per game in its last seven, while Boston chimes in with 5.9.

Wilson’s been wild and extremely hittable of late, and while Wright is in the midst of his best season as a pro, the scenario doesn’t bode well for him with the Orioles offense getting a recent look at his stuff.

MLB Odds: Boston 8, Baltimore 6
