Tigers-at-Yankees-(Live-Betting)-Odds-9

Things will pick back up in the Bronx on Saturday night when the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees partake in the second of their three game weekend set at Yankees Stadium.

You can bet on MLB odds at BookMaker.eu every day of the season.

ODDS ANALYSIS

In winning five of their last six and just taking two of three from the Blue Jays at home, Miguel Cabrera and his Tigers teammates are once again newsworthy within the AL Central. Once numerous games out, they now just sit 2.5 games in back of the Cleveland Indians along with the defending champion Royals for the top spot in the division. Now one game over .500 for the season, the Tigers have made MLB bettors $300 overall but have been a poor investment on the road where they’ve dropped 16 of 29 for a -$24 return on investment.

The Yankees have been one of the streakiest teams in the league through the first two-plus months of the season. Multiple game winning streaks have been followed by multiple game losing streaks numerous times. Currently, they’re on a winning streak having just swept the Angels out of Yankees Stadium. In doing so, they clawed to within one game of the breakeven point for the season, but have still cost their wagering supporters upwards of $237 overall. At home, manager Joe Girardi’s squad has been at its best where it secured wins on 16 of 28 occasions to produce $236 worth of betting profit.

PITCHING MATCHUP

Justin Verlander was an absolute sieve through the first month of the season. In going 5-5 and surrendering just as many hits as innings pitched. However in May, the veteran really turned it on pitching to a 3.16 ERA and 46:12 K/BB ratio through his 42.2 innings of work. Over his last three starts, the righty stands 2-1 with a 2.42 ERA and 0.67 WHIP. Detroit has won three of his last four trips to the bump, but he’s been at his worst away from Comerica where he’s 1-3 with a bloated 5.01 ERA and .220 batting average against.

Set to make his thirteenth start of the season will be Masahiro Tanaka who stands 3-1 with a 2.76 ERA and 59:15 K/BB ratio through just over 78 innings of work. He’s the Yanks staff leader in ERA and wins, and enters this outing on a roll having logged four straight quality starts against Oakland, Tampa Bay, Toronto and the Angels. Hardly a murderer’s row by any means. While NY has won five of his six home starts, he’s been at his worst there in pitching to a 4.19 ERA and allowing 36 hits and 18 ER through just over 38 innings pitched.

LIVE BETTING SCENARIO

I’ll be keeping close tabs on how Tanaka fares early in this one. He’s managed to go seven innings in three of his last four starts, and while that’s the dream scenario for the Yankees the way their bullpen sets up, it will be tough for him to be as efficient against the best offense he’s faced in weeks.

Should Victor Martinez and company up his pitch count early, I’ll be looking to live bet the Tigers in this one. Their offense is simply just leaps and bounds better than that of the Yanks regardless of the fact that NY just peppered Halos pitching in its previous series.

Verlander has had his issues with the Yankees in the past in going 5-7 with a 4.03 ERA lifetime, but he’s currently locked in and very confident as the best arm in the Tigers’ rotation. Should Tanaka’s pitch count get inflated early, pounce on the Tigers. NY’s middle relief is awful and will get taken apart by Detroit’s offense.
