The Los Angeles Dodgers travel to the Big Apple to square off against the New York Mets for the final meeting of the season between the two squads. The Mets are tied with the Nationals atop the National League East and the Dodgers are trailing the Giants by 5 games in the National League West.
It's been an up-and-down two weeks for the New York Mets that has included solid pitching and a four-game win streak, the loss of a big bat in the middle of their lineup and one of their aces being booed off the field in an ugly loss to a division rival.
The Mets lost their first baseman for four to six weeks because of a stress fracture in his lower back. It’s a significant blow for the Mets to lose Lucas Duda, who hit 27 homers last year and 30 in 2014. He’s hitting .231 with seven homers and 19 RBIs this season. Someone else will have to step up to fill the void.
Mets ace, Matt Harvey was booed off the field in a home loss against the Nationals. Mets fans showed their true colors, they loved Harvey last year and now are letting him have it. C’mon Mets fans, show some class!
In manager Dave Roberts first year at the helm, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been up and down and hovering at the .500 mark. They need to add some consistency to their blueprint if they want to stay with arch rival San Francisco in the National League West, who they currently trail by 5 games.

ODDS ANALYSIS/INFO
These teams faced off two weeks ago in Los Angeles and split the four game series and ALL games stayed UNDER the total.
Dodgers are 12-11 on the road, while the Mets are 13-8 at home.
Kershaw will be a heavy favorite for this game and the public will be all over him. He will at least be a -175 favorite. The game total will be around 7 runs.
Kershaw is 5-0 in the month of May, with three shutouts and a 0.54 ERA.
ESPN2 will broadcast the game at 8:05 p.m. ET
PROBABLE PITCHERS
Clayton Kershaw (7-1, 1.48) is trying to end the month of May like he started it, with a win. He is on fire and the best left-handed pitcher in baseball. He’s a perfect 5-0 this month, with three complete game shutouts. The left-hander allowed two hits and struck out seven on 102 pitches in a 1-0 victory over the Reds on Monday night. He retired the final 17 batters. He is un-hittable! Kershaw had his franchise-record streak of six starts in a row with at least 10 strikeouts end, but the fans were appreciative, chanting ''MVP! MVP!'' in the ninth.
Consistency was the key for Bartolo Colon (4-3, 3.44) who allowed one run and five hits in seven efficient innings to silent the Nationals in his last outing. Baseball's oldest player struck out two and walked two despite a stiff lower back. He pitched with ease through the potent Nats attack. Colon continues to amaze and always gives the Mets all he has and always at least five or six innings of work.
THE PICK
Kershaw and Colon pitched against each other earlier in the year in Los Angeles in a game the Dodgers won 5-0. Kershaw was dominant, throwing 108 pitches and striking out 13 batters. Colon didn’t pitch poorly, but with no run support it’s tough to beat any team, let alone Clayton Kershaw.
The game total will be around 6.5 or 7 runs and the way both pitchers are performing, a couple of runs is all they will need to get a win. This will be a quick game with both pitchers putting zeros on the board. The Mets will keep it close, but the Dodgers and Kershaw get the win and the total will stay UNDER the number.
