The Twins will be looking to make up some lost ground after starting the campaign winless in their first nine tries. They swept the Angels over the weekend and still have some work to do to become respectable, but it’s a start.

ODDS ANALYSIS
The Brewers finish an eight-game road swing with Tuesday’s tilt in Minnesota and the Crew is pretty excited about that. Milwaukee opened the trip with three games each against NL Central rivals St. Louis and Pittsburgh, dropping two of three in each series. Playing their first four series against some of the better teams in MLB, the Brewers were an underdog in each one. They’ve also been a hot play on the over playing above the runline in six of their last nine games.
Finally breaking through in the win column, the Twins finished off a sweep of the Angels with Sunday’s 3-2 victory. Minnesota began the year 0-9 and cashed the under every time. They got their first win Friday with a 5-4 triumph over the Halos playing above the total for the first time. Sunday’s win cashed the under for bettors and the under is 10-2 overall.
PROBABLE PITCHERS
Wily Peralta (0-3, 10.13 ERA) will take a fourth crack at his first win of the season. In his most recent outing on Thursday in St. Louis, he allowed seven hits and five earned runs over 5.0 innings in his longest stint of the year. It’s been a rough go so far for the righty giving up 20 hits, four home runs and eight walks in just 13.1 innings.
The Brewers lack alternatives in the rotation so Peralta probably isn’t looking at a demotion just yet, but it hasn’t been pretty. He is 1-1 with a 6.30 ERA in two career starts against the Twins.
Ervin Santana (0-1, 3.00 ERA) recovered from a tough start to go seven innings with three runs allowed in a loss to the White Sox on Thursday. Santana pitched well, but the Twins offense was silent in the 3-1 loss. He has given up five runs with 16 strikeouts in 15 innings over three starts this season.
Santana has faced the Brewers twice in his career, the last on May 21, 2014 when he surrendered nine hits and six runs in a 6-1 loss.
LIVE BETTING
The Brewers fared better than some expected early this season, playing to an even .500 record after 10 games. But make no mistake, this is still a rebuilding team. Milwaukee dropped its last two games in Pittsburgh over the weekend and was outscored by 11 runs over the two games. When the Brewers lose this year, they lose big.
They aren’t the worst team in baseball record-wise, but their minus-29 run differential after Sunday’s games ranks last in the majors. Manager Craig Counsell has an idea why the losses come by such wide margins. “To me that’s starting pitching,” he said. And the starter failed again on Sunday, resulting in a 9-3 loss as the Pirates ousted Zach Davies after just 2.1 innings. “Our starters got to do their job,” Counsell added.
QUICK PICK
It took 10 games but the Twins finally got their first win of the year behind and offense that showed some life. The Twins scored 14 times in their three-game sweep of the Angels over the weekend, matching their run production from their 0-9 start. That’s a good sign for the Twinkies, who have some talented young hitters.
And that’s a bad sign for Brewers starter Peralta, who has had a difficult time getting opposing hitters out. Peralta has been plagued by control problems and the long ball early in the year. He could have a better outing Tuesday facing a Twins lineup that has lacked discipline at the plate this MLB season. Santana is consistent on the bump for Minnesota and with a little run support he can shut down Milwaukee’s hitters.
MLB Odds: Minnesota 4, Milwaukee 3
