There's nothing quite like holiday baseball. Memorial Day is a day where you should be parked in front of your television all day long watching the American classic. The afternoon matchup between the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics might not seem like the best of the day, but live bettors could find some real opportunity here.

PITCHING MATCHUP
Kendall Graveman has a lot of potential, but his stats this year are just flat out ugly. He's got a 5.36 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP, and that alone should be causing live bettors to shy away. Righties are hitting .329 against him with a whopping slugging percentage of .560.
Still, it's not until Graveman gets into the 70s in his pitch count that things get super ugly. Once Graveman hits 76 pitches, batters are hitting a woeful .372 against him. Live bettors definitely need to keep this in mind as this game wears on.
Ervin Santana had a tough start against the Royals in his last outing, giving up six runs and nine hits in just 3.2 innings of work. A 1-3 record and 4.17 ERA don't look great for Santana, but there's no doubt he's the better of these two pitchers in this game.
Santana is one of these pitchers who doesn't get a lot of credit for being an elite level pitcher, but he isn't far off. Inconsistency has been the reason for that, though. The righty has been really good when he's been good this year though, and tossing eight innings and allowing just four hits and two runs against the Jays on May 19 is proof of that. If he gets rolling here, Santana could easily turn in seven good frames against a poor offensive team.
ADVANCED STATS
We really wish the Athletics would be more patient at the plate. They only have a 6.2 percent walk rate, and as a result, they're No. 27 in the league in OBP at .294. Throw in the fact that the Oakland Coliseum just eats up fly balls, and you've got the makings for a struggling offensive team.
It's not a mistake that Oakland is good for just 3.88 runs per game this season in spite of the fact that Khris Davis has jolted a ton of power into this lineup with his 13 homers thus far this season.
Stay away from situations where Davis and Marcus Semien can put multiple runs on the board with one swing of the bat, and you should be safe live betting against this Oakland offense more often than not.
TALKING BULLPENS
The Twins have had absolutely no luck finding good relievers this year. They have just four saves as a team against nine blown saves. Fernando Abad has been very good with a 0.51 ERA in his 21 appearances. The rest of this bullpen barely has a 4.50 ERA.
In order to beat the MLB betting lines in live betting, you've really got to be able to nail down games. The Twins only have a handful of games this year which they've won out of their bullpen, and most of those wins were a product of blown games for starters in the first place. It'll be nervy to back Minnesota from ahead in this game for sure.
