Cellar dwellers in their respective divisions are set to engage in the third of a four game series on Saturday afternoon when the Tampa Bay Rays and Minnesota Twins square off in the Twin Cities.

ODDS ANALYSIS
Baseball fans from across the world will be lining up in droves to take this matinee in from Target Field – Not!
This matchup pits two of the worst bets in all of baseball against one another. The Rays check in six games under .500 and down over $900 for baseball bettors. Not to be outdone, the Twinkies have won just 15 of their 51 overall games played good for an overall return on investment of -$1797 for those idiotic enough to continue placing their hard earned money on this joke of a team.
PROBABLE PITCHERS
The Rays starting rotation owns the No. 13 ERA in the league at 4.12. With the team routinely forced to go up against offensive dynamos within the division, that isn’t good enough. One hurler looking to help better that output is 27-year old right-hander Matt Andriese. His 2.36 ERA through five starts is the best of the starting staff. He’ll attempt to get back into the win column after failing to do so in his previous two starts against the Marlins and Royals whom he did throw quality starts against but was let down by his offense.
Opposing the youngster will be veteran Ervin Santana who is flat out robbing the Minnesota Twins franchise and fans of the ball club. He’s 1-4 with a 5.12 ERA and has allowed 52 hits through his 48 overall innings of work. If that’s the type of output that can earn you $13.5M dollars a season, I’d like to dust off my own mitt and cleats and get back on the starting bump. All jokes aside, Santana is yet to register a win at home and has pitched to a 4.94 ERA there, and he’s gotten smoked by TBY with a 5.34 ERA lifetime .
LIVE BETTING
Minnesota dominated this rivalry last season in winning four of the six overall meetings. That said, the Rays have made Target Field their home away from home after coming out on top in seven of their last 10 visits.
They play in the tougher division and need wins against teams like this to have any shot of getting back into the AL East race. Look for Kevin Cash’s squad to come out determined in this one behind one of the better arms of their starting rotation.
QUICK PICK
While Santana has logged quality efforts in three of his last four starts, he’s had nothing but issues versus the Rays mediocre offense throughout his career. On top of that, Evan Longoria and Desmond Jennings have three career home runs against him and his long ball worries won’t end there with Tampa Bay launching the fourth most home runs out of the park this MLB season.
Andriese has opposed the Royals and Tigers in his last two road starts, and lived to tell about it with one outing of quality. He’s 2-0 with a 2.79 ERA away from the Trop where he’s allowed just 14 hits in nearly 20 innings of work. Though he’s suffered from a bit of wildness when toeing the visitor’s bump, the Twins rank out as the No. 21 team in taking walks.
Tampa Bay ranks out just a bit better in the bullpen, so if Andriese finds a way to churn out another quality start and hand a lead over to the unit, I can see the Rays pulling this one out by a couple runs.
MLB Odds: Rays 5, Twins 3
