American League powerhouse will close their three game set from Motown Wednesday afternoon when R.A. Dickey leads the Toronto Blue Jays into battle against Jordan Zimmerman and the Detroit Tigers.

You can bet on MLB odds at BookMaker.eu every day of the season.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Blue Jays got out to a slow start in their defense of the AL East pennant, but John Gibbons’ squad has turned it around of late in winning eight of their last 10 games to catapult themselves back into the division race. As it is, Toronto has played to a 31-27 overall record that’s cost their betting backers upwards of $160 on the season. They have however been at their best away from home in winning 17 of 30 to log a modest $252 return, and will invade Detroit having just taken two of three from the red hot Red Sox in Fenway.

While Detroit sits No. 10 on the money earned list with a $193 return on investment for $100 per unit investors, I still think this team has once again been a huge disappointment. This is a station to station ball club that still relies on the long ball to win games. The bullpen still stinks out loud, while the starting staff owns the No. 17 ranked ERA in all of baseball. The team will enter this series on a bit of a high after winning four of five and busting out the brooms upon the slumping White Sox over the weekend to move three games over .500 when at home ($217).

PROBABLE PITCHERS

R.A. Dickey’s knuckleball was dancing all over the place last time out against the Red Sox whom he limited to just a pair of hits and one unearned run through 6.2 innings of work. He was however wild for the second straight game in walking five batters while logging four strikeouts. That makes it nine walks and only five Ks over his last 12 innings of work, and if that’s what transpires here tonight, it’s going to be a short outing for the veteran.

Jordan Zimmerman is the staff leader in ERA (2.58), wins (8) and WHIP (1.15). His first start back from the DL was decent, but hardly dominating after holding the White Sox to five hits and a pair of earned runs while walking two and striking out three through 5.2 innings of work. That offense will be much different than the one he runs up against this afternoon, so he better bring his good stuff to the park if he’s to not get bludgeoned. Zimm’s been spectacular at Comerica (5-1, 3.38 ERA) and under the sun where he’s a perfect 4-0 and the owner of a .202 batting average against.

LIVE BETTING

As soon as the player props open for this game, scroll down to Ian Kinsler and hit the over for hits in the game immediately. Dickey has had absolutely no answer for the Tigers’ two-bagger as he’s 8-for-19 lifetime with 3 HR, 6 RBI and 1 1:1 K/BB ratio.

On top of that, he’s the third ranked second baseman in fantasy baseball and has raked multiple hits in two of his last three games.

QUICK PICK

We were all over Dickey in his Fenway start last time out with him squaring off against another knuckleballer and wanting to show him whose boss. While he owns a 7-3 record throughout his career against the Tigers, I can’t help but see the picture the stats paint when he’s pitched in day games to date. Through 17.1 innings under the sun, the veteran has been peppered to the tune of 17 hits and 11 ERs with a 13:7 K/BB ratio.

Detroit’s unforgiving offense is most likely going to make him pay, and when you pair that with Zimmerman’s perfection in day games, I’m going to want a piece of the home team in this one.

MLB Odds: Tigers 8, Blue Jays 4
