San Francisco Giants hope to continue dominance of Los Angeles Dodgers on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball

2015-Giants-at-Dodgers-Betting-Online

The San Francisco Giants (35-32 SU, -0.55 Units) might not be in the best form at the moment, but they do head into this week's edition of Sunday Night Baseball knowing that they shut out the Los Angeles Dodgers (37-29 SU, -4.28 Units) for three straight games back in the middle of May.

PITCHING MATCHUP

This is a particularly interesting pitching matchup, knowing that it was the same battle that we saw twice before this year.

Brian Anderson was favored by -150 and -140 margins in the two games this year against Tim Lincecum, the second of which was on the road.

Neither one of these pitchers lasted all that long in the first meeting in April here at Dodger Stadium, but in the game in May, both pitched incredibly well in a 4-0 San Francisco victory.

If you take away the won/loss record from these two pitchers, you probably wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

Lincecum is 7-3 with a 3.31 ERA, but it is definitely concerning that he has a 57/35 K/BB ratio. That's just far too many walks over the course of 73.1 innings of work. That though, has been a problem out of "The Freak" for his entire career.

Anderson is 2-4 with a 3.43 ERA alongside a relatively similar 51/21 K/BB ratio in 76.0 innings of work.

The end result for live bettors is going to make this a very tough one to deal with. However, it should be noted that Lincecum is the more boom or bust prospect, meaning that any inning could be the one where he allows three walks and five runs.

ADVANCED STATS

For the purposes of live betting, keep a really close eye on the innings in which Buster Posey is due up for the Giants. The team's catcher is 13-of-34 this year against LA with two home runs and six RBIs. He's a .298 career hitter against the Dodgers with 11 homers in 305 at bats, and he has really hit the ball well against Anderson as well, going 4-of-11 with three extra base hits and an OPS of .909.

Posey has also hit safely in 10 consecutive starts, though he hasn't gone yard since June 5.

BookMaker offers result betting for each batter due up in an inning via our live betting platform. Posey will inevitably be one of the more bet upon men in live betting in this game, especially if Anderson really isn't on his game, and we fully suggest joining the masses on betting upon him to get hits each time he comes up to the plate.

TALKING BULLPENS

There's only one team in baseball which has a bullpen with a K/9 over 10, and that team is LA.

The Dodgers have been excellent this year in relief, posting a 3.06 ERA with an even better FIP of 2.86. Remember that a lot of that was done before Kenley Jansen got off his offseason surgery which cost him the first month and a half of the campaign.

Fire baller after fire baller continues to come out of this bullpen, as Pedro Baez, Juan Nicasio, Adam Liberatore, Yimi Garcia, Sergio Santos and of course, Jansen all have K/9s beyond 9.00.

Thus far this season against the Giants, LA's bullpen has pitched 23.0 innings and has allowed six earned runs, posting just one really bad outing in the nine duels.
