Oregon has the clear talent advantage and the home court, so it will be heavy favorites to take care of business. The Sun Devils have some talented pieces but no depth and will have a tough time hanging around for all 40 minutes.

This war on the floor will go down Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 11 p.m. ET at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon. The game will be televised live on FS1.

We'll have NCAA basketball odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the college basketball Thursday schedule.

Oregon is 19-3 straight up and 12-9 against the spread. The Ducks have played in 12 home games this season and have covered in seven of them. Oregon has been favored in all but two games this season and are 11-8 against the spread when giving points.

Arizona State is 10-12 straight up and 9-11-1 against the spread. The Sun Devils have done well on the road, covering in four of their six attempts. Arizona State has been the underdog the majority of the time and is 5-7 against the spread when getting points.

Lookahead Situation

Oregon has a titanic clash coming up against Arizona in a game which could help decide the Pac-12 regular season crown. Both teams are good enough to make deep runs in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and all eyes will be in Eugene for that one.

The Ducks, though, must face off against Arizona State first. The Sun Devils have only registered one road conference win and it came against Stanford, so Oregon will obviously feel confident.

The trick will be staying sharp mentally knowing the game that is on the horizon. If Arizona State can come out strong, it may be able to cover the spread.

Key Stat

83.7. That’s the number of points allowed by Arizona State on the season, which is one of the poorest marks in the country. The Sun Devils are averaging 81 points per contest but could be in real trouble against Oregon.

The Ducks have five players averaging in double figures, led by Dillon Brooks, who is scoring 13.4 points and adding 3.1 assists. Chris Boucher, Tyler Dorsey, Dylan Ennis and Jordan Bell are all averaging 11 points per game or more and the depth will be hard for Arizona State to handle.

The Sun Devils have a couple of talented players in Torian Graham and Tra Holder, but there are only seven players in the rotation and the starters play heavy minutes. If anyone gets in foul trouble or the team gets fatigued, Arizona State gets in trouble.

Oregon is superior in every way and doesn’t have to travel for this one. Even with one eye on the next game, the Ducks should have little trouble cruising to victory in this matchup.

Oregon is one of the best teams in the country and should be in the hunt for the conference title when the season wraps up. The Sun Devils may be on the right track under new coach Bobby Hurley, but it could take a couple more years to become competitive against upper-tier foes.

The spread should be big in this one, and that must be kept in mind when deciding which team will cover.

College Basketball Odds: Oregon 87, Arizona State 74
