Off a huge come-from-behind overtime win that snapped the Kansas Jayhawks 51-game home win streak, the Iowa State Cyclones will close out their two-game road trip in Austin where they’ll run up against a Texas Longhorns squad that’s had their number in recent years. The Horns have toppled the Clones six of the last seven times they hosted this rivalry and will be favored to win their third straight in front of the hometown faithful.
This war on the floor will go down Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 9 p.m. ET at the Frank Erwin Center. The game will be televised live on ESPN2. We'll have NCAA basketball odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on Tuesday’s college basketball schedule.

Iowa State has gone off the betting board dogged in all five of its Big 12 road games. They secured outright wins against Oklahoma State ( +3.5), Oklahoma ( +2 ), and Kansas ( +10 ) and covered as 9 point pups at Baylor in a 65-63 defeat. The only game lost outright came at TCU who toppled them 84-77 as 2.5 point favorites. Four of the five games combined for high scorers with an average of 166.2 points put on the board.
The Longhorns have been installed short favorites on their own floor in three of their last four home games. They’re 1-2 against the spread in those contests losing outright to TCU as 1.5 point favorites, beating Oklahoma 84-83 but failing to cover the 2 point spread, and beating Texas Tech whom they beat 62-58 as 1 point chalk. Two of the three games combined to go under the closing total with an average of 137.3 points scored.
Player to Watch
Deonte Burton – The Clones shooting guard had his best game of the season in the Phog where he lit the Jayhawks up for 29 points and knocked down 7 of 9 from beyond the arc to lead Iowa State to an insane 52.9 percent success rate on 34 long range attempts. His 27 points on 12 of 17 shooting helped lead Iowa State to the 79-70 win and non-cover against Texas at Hilton Coliseum in early January. Him being able to go off once again from long range would go a long way in the team earning back-to-back wins with Texas only allowing a 30.4 percent success rate from downtown.
Letdown Spot
The Cyclones just might enter off the biggest win in program history after coming back from a 15 point deficit to shock the Jayhawks in overtime. Steve Prohm’s kids logged major minutes with Nazareth Mitrou-Long, Monte Morris and Burton each going for 40+ minutes of action. The team will have only had two days to rest up and get ready for a Texas team that’s been nothing if not a thorn in the side of every opponent that’s entered the Frank Erwin Center in Big 12 play this season. Should ISU still be interested in reading their press clippings from over the weekend, they’ll get laughed off the court.

If you plan on betting this game, you better be sure to have a bottle of Pepto Bismol by your side. Texas doesn’t go down easily at home evidenced by all the close games it’s played to this season. Their five home games played in conference have all been decided by an average of just 2.6 points per game, and many of them weren’t ultimately won until the final gun. That doesn’t leave much leeway in terms of backing one of these sides one way or the other.
However, I can’t help but think round two will play out a bit differently than the first meeting that saw Iowa State win but Texas cover as 9.5 point underdogs. Each team’s biggest scoring threat all had big games, but with both coaches having some film to dissect this time around, adjustments will be made. Throw in Texas playing a much stingier brand of defense when at home and the Cyclones likely suffering from weary legs, and the ingredients are there to cook up a nice position on the under.
College Basketball Odds: Texas 68, Iowa State 66
