The Alabama Crimson Tide will no doubt be jacked for this afternoon tussle after outlasting South Carolina in a triple overtime thriller to log their seventh SEC win of the season. Whether they’ll have enough gas in the tank to run with the Kentucky Wildcats remains to be seen, but after getting embarrassed in all three meetings last season, they’ll no doubt give it the old college try.
This war on the floor will go down Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at the Coleman Coliseum. The game will be televised live on CBS. We'll have NCAA basketball odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on Saturday’s college basketball schedule.

A visit from the putrid LSU Tigers looked to be the perfect spot for the Wildcats to get back on track for their betting backers. While it looked great on paper, it didn’t come to form on the hardwood with Kentucky only managing the 92-85 win as gargantuan 25 point favorites. The pointspread defeat was their fifth straight and eighth in their last nine games. The Wildcats have lost two straight on the road and haven’t covered a game on the SEC road since throttling Ole Miss in their conference opener.
The Crimson Tide have been darn near impossible to get a handle on. One game they go out and beat the Georgia Bulldogs by 20 in Athens, and then go out and lose by seven to Auburn on their home floor. Tuesday’s 90-86 outright win over the Gamecocks saw them snap a string of two straight losses against the oddsmakers. They’ll return home for this one looking to build upon their 8-3 record as a host that’s seen them go just 4-5 in the nine lined games.
Recent Meetings
It was flat out ugly for the Crimson Tide in this matchup last season. Avery Johnson’s kids were beaten soundly in the first meeting falling 77-61 as 6.5 point home underdogs. Nearly two months later, they didn’t fare much better in Lexington falling 78-53 as 13.5 point underdogs. They were then rolled up and smoked in the SEC tournament losing by 26 points as 13.5 point underdogs once again. KY Jelly has won each of the last six meetings and covered four of them against the spread. Three of the last four skirmishes combined to surpass the closing point total.
Look-Ahead Spot
It will be interesting to see just what kind of effort Kentucky brings to the table for this one considering how easily it disposed of the Crimson Tide in every meeting last season. With it losers in three of its last five, there’s no time to look-ahead here but a revenge match lined up next with the Vols might just have the Wildcats looking past Alabama for Super Tuesday’s tilt back in Lexington. If that’s the case, Bama could ugly the game up enough to end its six-game losing streak to the Wildcats.

Line makers have been overvaluing Kentucky all season long, and they’ll likely do so once again in this spot knowing full well the betting public is still going to flock to the Wildcats regardless of how much money they’ve cost their supporters to date. If Alabama had any semblance of an offense, I’d have no reservations whatsoever in backing them plus the points.
That isn’t the case however with it averaging a tick over 70 points per game and shooting a gross 42.4 percent from the field ( No. 280 ) and 32.1 percent from beyond the arc ( No. 302 ). While it’s been able to lean on its defense in most games, that likely won’t be the case in this spot coming off that multiple overtime win over the Cocks. It’s only a matter of time until Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox get Kentucky back into the form that saw it excel earlier in the season, so I’ll take a chance it turns the page today and continues owning Alabama like it has for the last couple seasons.
College Basketball Odds: Kentucky 78, Alabama 68
