The Ohio State Buckeyes played a really tough game at the XFINITY Center just a couple weeks ago, allowing 100 points in a brutal loss to the Maryland Terrapins. The script is often flipped from games like this when two teams meet on short notice, and that's what the Bucks are hoping for on Sunday at home.

SCHEDULING
Ohio State is quietly 8-4-1 ATS at home this season, and it has yet to lose a game played here at Value City Arena in the Big Ten portion of the season. That's why that, in spite of the fact that the Buckeyes have a short turnaround time from Thursday's game at Illinois to Sunday's soiree at home, live bettors should still have a heck of a lot of confidence in the hosts, especially with revenge on their minds.
Maryland's spot could be construed as even tougher. The Terps have to play on Thursday as well, but a game against Iowa at home is certainly a noteworthy matchup. Especially if that game on Thursday ends up being a tight one, live bettors have to be aware of a letdown.
KEY MATCHUP
You're not going to beat Maryland if you can't shoot the basketball. The Buckeyes were just 3-of-12 from beyond the arc on the same day the Terps shot 62.7 percent from the field and went 11-of-21 from deep. You're not going to find a game this year in which they hit a dozen threes or anything of the sorts, but clearly, three triples won't cut it in this NCAAB game.
Marc Loving was rather awful in the first go around of the year of these Big Ten powers, as he shot just 1-of-8 from the field and scored just three points. He's 6-foot-7 and should be able to provide a matchup problem for a lot of teams because of his size and ability to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. Live bettors will be counting on him to excel in this game and flirt with 20 points or so.
Except there's just one problem: Loving hasn't topped 12 points in a game in six straight, including posting a pair of single-digit scoring games in that span. In a related story, the Buckeyes have scored more than 66 points just once in those six games, that coming against lowly Rutgers.
KEY STATS & TRENDS
If you're looking back at that box score from a couple weeks ago, there are at least a couple redeeming features for the Buckeyes. They had 11 offensive rebounds against the six for Maryland, and they turned those 11 offensive boards into six made field goals.
The Terps can rebound the ball at times, but once you take away Robert Carter, there really isn't a ton of size on the floor.
Melo Trimble is the man who can rip the hearts out of live bettors in a heartbeat. He's one of the best pure scorers in America, particularly in the clutch, as he already has three game-winning shots this year. If this one comes down to a possession or two, Trimble is the man on the court you'd want doing the work on either side of the floor, as he's a lockdown defender as well. A close game definitely favors Maryland, even on the road here at Value City Arena.
