So far, the Nevada Wolf Pack has proven why it’s the No. 1 seed in the Mountain West Conference tournament with easy wins against Utah State and Fresno State to arrive in Saturday’s final. But, there’s still a big hurdle ahead as the Wolf Pack prepares to face the No. 2 seed Colorado State for the conference title.
Nevada may have played good enough to be considered for an at-large berth if it doesn’t win this game, but it wants to take away any drama by locking up the automatic bid from the Mountain West.
Colorado State will have to play well to have a shot at the upset and make it to the NCAA Tournament. The Rams have looked good in the conference tournament and that must translate one more time.

Player to Watch
Marcus Marshall -- Nevada’s senior guard will be coming into this contest on a high note after scoring 28 points in the Wolf Pack’s win over Fresno State on Friday. He shot 7-of-13 from the field and had five three-pointers in the victory.
When Nevada faced Colorado State on March 4th, Marshall finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. It was his first double-double of the season.
Marshall is averaging a team-high 19.5 points per game right now for the Wolf Pack. He has scored a season-high of 32 points on two occasions, against Washington and Wyoming.
Last Meeting
These teams only faced off one time during the regular season, and Nevada came away victorious. The Wolf Pack trailed by a bucket in a high-scoring first half but then got critical stops down the stretch to come away with an 85-72 win to clinch the regular season conference championship.
Nevada was led by Cameron Oliver, who had 29 points in the contest. Colorado State got a big game from Gian Clavell, who poured in 33 points. Both of these teams have the ability to score in bunches, and Nevada proved superior in the first matchup.
However, the game was close for much of it and Colorado State certainly feels like it has enough firepower to remain competitive this time around.

Nevada has been the most dominant team in the Mountain West throughout the season, as it won the regular season conference crown and was the only team with single-digit losses. It cruised by double digits in each of the first two matchups in the conference tournament against Utah State and Fresno State, and would love another easy win.
The competition is tougher in this one, so expect a back-and-forth affair early on against the Rams. However, the Wolf Pack’s strong offensive prowess should be enough to overwhelm Colorado State when the game hits its breaking point.
Nevada will head in the NCAA Tournament on a nine-game winning streak with a victory here to claim the Mountain West tournament title. Check the spread, because Colorado State could hang around enough to possibly get the cover.
College Basketball Odds: Nevada 85, Colorado State 80
