The Purdue Boilermakers have reeled off consecutive wins over ranked opponents and hope to stay among the Big Ten contenders with another win over the Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana has lost three of its past four games and has now dropped to one of the bubble teams for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
Indiana hoped to be in the running for a national championship this season but it has not come together. The home court advantage is big in this one as each side could really use a victory.
The Boilermakers have been better at home this season but are also competitive on the road and will aim to pick up another key victory.
This war on the floor will go down Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 7 p.m. ET at the Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana. The game will be televised live on ESPN.
We'll have NCAA basketball odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the college basketball Thursday schedule.

Player to Watch
Caleb Swanigan – Purdue’s sophomore forward has captured six straight double-doubles coming into this matchup against Indiana. What’s more, he is coming off huge performances in the Boilermakers’ big wins against No. 25 Northwestern and No. 17 Maryland last week.
Swanigan combined for 50 points and 26 rebounds in the latest victories for Purdue. If these two games are any indication, he’s shown no signs of slowing down as he continues to lead the team with 19.1 points per game and 12.8 rebounds per game.
The sophomore finished with 28 points and 22 rebounds against Minnesota last month and has captured a total of 20 double-doubles all season. He has undoubtedly been a huge key to Purdue’s success this season.
Matchup to Watch
Indiana’s offense against Purdue’s tough defense. The Hoosiers are averaging 82 points per game right now behind James Blackmon, who leads the team with 17.6 points per game. However, he has suffered a lower leg injury and is out for an indefinite period of time.
If he misses this game, it’s a big blow to Indiana’s chances of emerging victorious.
Indiana scored 110 points in an overtime win over Penn State, marking the team’s fifth win where the offense scored 100 points or more this season. Robert Johnson and Bryant are two more assets on the Hoosiers offense, combining for another 27.4 points per game.
This week, the team faces a defense that is holding teams to 66 points per game. The Boilermakers held Northwestern, a team that is averaging 74.3 points per game this season, to to just 59 in their win on February 1st and also defeated No. 13 Wisconsin 66-55 on January 8th.

Indiana needs to pick it up down the stretch, but has been hit hard by injuries. The Hoosiers had some big wins early in the non-conference season but is under .500 in the Big Ten. Swanigan has emerged as a legitimate Player of the Year candidate in the conference and the Boilermakers are playing well.
It’s never easy to win on the road, especially against a formidable foe. Even with the injury issues, choose Indiana to secure a key home victory over Purdue.
College Basketball Odds: Indiana 71, Purdue 68
