Florida is 18-5 straight up and 14-8 against the spread. The Gators have played in six true road games and have covered in four of them. Florida is a fantastic 14-4 against the spread as the favorite this season and will be giving points in this one.
Georgia is 13-10 straight up and 11-9 against the spread. The Bulldogs have played in nine home games this season and has covered in only two of them. Georgia has been really good as an underdog this season, covering in seven of eight matchups, and hopes to do it again in this one.
Letdown Situation
Florida is the more talented team, but could be in a tough situation here. The Gators are coming off an emotionally draining victory over Kentucky. Florida must try to refocus against an inferior team, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see a less-than-inspired performance.
Letdown games will happen from time to time during the season, and even if Florida isn’t as sharp as desired, it will still aim to come away with the win. Even if the Gators win a close one, a letdown could be the difference between which side covers the spread.
Player to Watch
Yante Maten -- The Georgia junior forward leads the team in scoring and will aim to have a big day in order to keep the Bulldogs within striking distance. He is averaging 19.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest on the season and shooting 53.6 percent from the field, which is a career high.
Maten has averaged 20 points per game over the past five games. He had a nice showing last time out, accumulating 18 points, four rebounds and four blocks in a close loss to South Carolina. Maten and J.J. Frazier are the only two players on the team who average in double figures and Florida will be keeping an eye on them, so both need to play well.

This will be Georgia’s third straight game against a ranked opponent. First up was Kentucky, who the Bulldogs pushed to overtime but fell by a score of 90-81. Georgia was close again last time out, losing to No. 19 South Carolina by a score of 77-75.
Both of those games were on the road, so Georgia showed its ability to hang against superior rosters. WIth this one at home, the Bulldogs aim to pull off a win over a ranked opponent this time around.
Florida has won four consecutive games and beat Georgia 80-76 in their first matchup this season. The Bulldogs seemingly have been able to hang tough against a lot of top teams, but haven’t been able to get over the hump.
They would love to do so in this one, but Florida is playing well and should be able to pull out a hard-fought road victory.
College Basketball Odds: Florida 74, Georgia 69
