The TCU Horned Frogs came away with a thrilling upset of the top-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes last time out and are now a victory away from making it to the semifinals of the NIT. The fourth-seeded Horned Frogs will face off against the No. 6 seed Richmond Spiders to see who will emerge victorious out of their region.
TCU will be able to play in front of its home crowd in this one, which is different from the NCAA Tournament. The Horned Frogs will aim to take advantage of that.
TCU should be favored but there have been a ton of upsets already in the NIT and it must be wary of a Richmond team that is playing well coming into this matchup.

Last Time Out
TCU made it here with a thrilling 94-92 victory over the top-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes in the second round. The Horned Frogs were hoping to win it in regulation but a lay-up by Iowa in the final moments forced the extra time.
TCU didn’t panic and quickly pulled ahead before holding on for the win. The Horned Frogs were led by Vladimir Brodziansky, who had 19 points and four rebounds, while Alex Robinson had 19 points and 11 assists.
Richmond advanced by knocking off No. 7 seed Oakland. T.J. Cline had 25 points to lead the way and hit a pair of crucial free throws with less than five seconds remaining to clinch the victory. Richmond has now won seven of its past eight games heading into this matchup.
Injury Report
TCU point guard Jaylen Fisher will miss the rest of the NIT with a wrist injury. He averaged 9.9 points and 4.0 assists during the year and it’s a big loss.
However, the Horned Frogs played well without him against Iowa and had no problem scoring without their ball distributor. They hope the injury doesn’t adversely affect them the rest of the way.
Richmond now has tape on Fisher’s replacements and how TCU will substitute, which could be important in this one. While Fisher’s absence hurts, it’s not a death blow for the Horned Frogs.

TCU went toe-to-toe with the No. 1 seed and came away victorious. Now the Horned Frogs get to head home and play in front of their fans against a lower-seeded team.
TCU was better than its record during the season and showed it last time out. Richmond is a solid team but is unlikely to be able to keep up in this contest. Take the Horned Frogs to not only come away with the win but cover the spread if it isn’t too large.
TCU is peaking at the right time and it’s NIT should continue when this one is over. Keep an eye on the scoring total. The Horned Frogs were off to the races last time out and could continue to fill it up.
College Basketball Odds: TCU 81, Richmond 68
