The Ole Miss Rebels knocked off the top seed in the NIT Tournament last time out and hopes to keep it rolling to a berth in the semifinals. After a victory over Syracuse, the No. 5 seeded Rebels will now face off against the No. 6 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the quarterfinals.
Since Ole Miss is the higher seed it gets the benefit of home court advantage, which could be a big plus in a matchup of two pretty even teams. The Rebels should be slight favorites based on that geography and their slightly better body of work overall.

Last Time Out
Ole Miss used a strong second half to upset No. 1 seed Syracuse in the second round. The Rebels got a huge game from Terence Davis, who had 30 points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals in the victory. He shot 11-of-14 from the field and hit 6-of-7 from three-point range.
DeAndre Burnett player well, too, scoring 19 points and dishing out nine assists. Ole Miss shot a sparkling 47 percent from three-point range to come away with the win. Mississippi scored 49 points in the second half as it took the lead late and held on for the win.
Georgia Tech made it here by knocking off Belmont, 71-57, in the second round. The Yellow Jackets began their run by upsetting Indiana in their opening game. Quinton Stephens had 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds to spark the win over Belmont.
The Yellow Jackets outscored Belmont by 10 points in the second half to take control and move on.
Player to Watch
Ben Lammers -- Georgia Tech boasts a talented big man and will try to get him going in this one. Lammers is averaging 14.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and is a big piece on both ends of the court. He is averaging 3.3 blocks per game and always is on players’ minds when they are driving into the lane.
He had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Belmont and regularly posts double-doubles. If Lammers has a good game, he will give his team a shot at pulling off the upset.

Ole Miss is slightly better but both of these teams have nice wins in the NIT over perennially successful programs. They are both lower seeds but have done a nice job exceeding expectations.
While this one could go either way, the home court advantage is integral. Take the Rebels to win because they are playing well and will have their home fans’ support.
Keep an eye on the spread, though. It won’t be too high, but Georgia Tech has played well of late and will keep this one nip and tuck throughout. The Yellow Jackets might not win but they should cover.
College Basketball Odds: Ole Miss 77, Georgia Tech 76
