The Milwaukee Panthers were the worst team in the Horizon League during the regular season and lost more than two-thirds of their overall games. They were expected to finish their season quietly but have had other ideas, advancing to the conference championship game against the Northern Kentucky Norse.
Milwaukee will likely be a heavy underdog in this one with the NCAA Tournament on the line, but that hasn’t stopped it the previous three times out. Northern Kentucky benefited in the semifinals when top-seeded Oakland got knocked from the tournament, and is now favored to make it to March Madness despite being the No. 4 seed itself.

Northern Kentucky has won five games in a row heading into this matchup and will enter the conference title game with a lot of confidence. Still, with the teams splitting victories this season, it could come down to which team wants it more in this one.

The Panthers demolished Detroit in the opening round and then pulled out a 43-31 squeaker over Valparaiso. They advanced to the championship game by knocking off Illinois Chicago 74-68 in the semifinals.
Milwaukee lost to all three teams during that regular season swoon but have gone on a memorable post-season run and now sit just one game away from advancing to March Madness. The Panthers have appeared in four previous NCAA tournaments with their latest coming in 2014.
