College Basketball Odds - Oklahoma Sooners at Texas Longhorns Live Betting Preview

Oklahoma-at-Texas-(CBS)-Odds

The Texas Longhorns went on a nice little run from the end of January through the beginning of February. They've tailed off a little bit with losses in three of their last five games, but they've surely done enough to reach the NCAA Tournament. That said, there are two really big chances at home to really bolster that resume, starting on Saturday against the Oklahoma Sooners.

SCHEDULING

This is a really nice spot for Texas. The Longhorns are only 7-7 ATS here at the Erwin Center this year, but they've already beaten North Carolina, Iowa State and West Virginia here in Austin, and adding to that list isn't out of the question. Texas really seems to play to the level of its competition, so don't discount the possibility of an upset here in this one when you're live betting this game.

The Sooners got back together after their two-game skid by beating up West Virginia in Morgantown last weekend. They should've have a problem with Oklahoma State at home on Wednesday night before the trip to Austin.

KEY MATCHUP

Buddy Hield only had 15 points in the first 36 minutes of the game these two played in Norman, and as a result, it certainly looked like Texas was on its way to its biggest victory of the season over the then-No. 1 team in the nation.

Then Hield took over.

The National Player of the Year candidate scored 12 points in the last 3:20, including hitting the game-winning three-pointer with just 1.4 seconds left on the clock to ensure the victory. Texas led much of the game by between four and 10 points before the last push by Oklahoma.

Hield really seems to be the key man to watch for live betting purposes whenever Oklahoma is on the court. It just doesn't matter how well or how poorly the rest of the team plays around him. If he's on his game, it's all over. Jordan Woodard and Ryan Spangler, both of which are generally key contributors to this team, were complete invisible in that first matchup with Texas, but it didn't matter in the end. At the first sign of Hield taking this game over, it's time to get in on the Sooners in live betting.

KEY STATS & TRENDS

Texas has played six games against teams which rank No. 17 or better in the current AP Poll. The Longhorns are 6-0 ATS in those games and are 4-2 SU to show for their work as well. That's why their resume really is rock solid in spite of the fact that an 18-10 record isn't the greatest in the world.

Oklahoma snapped a four-game streak of ATS losses against West Virginia. What didn't end in Morgantown though, was its under streak, one which has now hit four games. That streak started when these two basketball teams met on February 8, a 63-60 game which game nowhere near the total of 147.5.

Live bettors though, have to budget the fact that Texas hasn't played an under game since that point, going a perfect 4-0 for over backers, all four games of which covered the total by at least 10 points.
