Kansas is an elite team and plays this game at home, so there is little reason to believe Oklahoma State can spring the upset. The Cowboys played well in the non-conference season but have struggled as the competition has gotten tougher.

Kansas is 15-1 straight up and 6-8 against the spread. The Jayhawks have played six games at home this season but have only covered twice as they have often been heavy favorites. Kansas has been favored in all but one games this season.
Oklahoma State is 10-5 straight up and 6-5 against the spread on the season. The Cowboys have played in five road games and have covered in two of them. Oklahoma State is 2-2 against the spread as the underdog and will certainly be getting points in this showdown.
Player to Watch
Jawun Evans – The sophomore guard has had some jaw-dropping performances this season for Oklahoma State. He just hasn’t had any lately.
Evans was held to just eight points in the Cowboys’ 62-57 loss to Baylor on January 7th, shooting just 17 percent from the field. That marks the third game this season when the young player – who has shown glimpses of stardom – was held to below 10 points in a game.
Evans started the season red hot, putting up 34 points in the season opener against Campbell and currently leads the team in points per game with 18.9. He scored 30 against North Carolina on November 11th and will be looking to channel some of that early-season energy this weekend against Kansas.
Evans needs to have a big game if the Cowboys have any designs of knocking off such a talented foe.
Key Stat
69.7. That’s how many points per game this Kansas defense is allowing so far this season. The Jayhawks will be tested Saturday, facing an Oklahoma State offense that is averaging 88.7 points per game behind Evans.
The Jayhawks held Texas Tech to just 68 points in their win over the Red Raiders on January 7th and, in all, have held eight opponents to below 70 this weekend. Indiana scored 103 on Kansas in the season opener and the team’s only loss this season, but since then, no opponent has broken 90.
Oklahoma State’s high-powered offense has been struggling lately, however, averaging just 70.3 points per game over the last three contests, all of which resulted in losses. The team will be looking to turn things around this week.
Kansas has an elite group of players and has no problem getting buckets. If its defense is playing at a high level, this team is nearly unbeatable. This is one of the key matchups to watch in this contest.

Kansas may ascend to No. 1 in the country with another perfect week, and the Jayhawks have looked great since the season-opening loss to Indiana. Oklahoma State has hung in against some ranked teams earlier this season but does not have the firepower to keep up.
Kansas should be able to cruise to this one and once again assert itself as one of the teams to beat in the chase for this season’s national title.
College Basketball Odds: Kansas 95, Oklahoma State 83
