Outside of Gonzaga, there is no team in the country hotter than the Arizona Wildcats. After losing to the Bulldogs back in early December, Arizona hasn’t dropped a game since and just made it 12 in a row with a win over UCLA earlier in the week. That win kept the Wildcats in a tie with Oregon for first place in the PAC 12 but now they face the player projected to be the No.1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft in Markelle Fultz. His Washington Huskies will head south to try to knock off Zona in this one.

This was on the floor will go down Sunday, January 29, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. ET at the McKale Memorial Center. This game will be televised live on FOX. We will have NCAA basketball odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the college basketball Sunday schedule.

Few teams have been as disappointing as Washington this season. With a talent like Fultz, many thought this team had an outside chance at a conference title, but instead the Huskies are near the bottom of the PAC 12 standings. They are 6-12-1 ATS this season and an even worse 1-4 ATS away from home. A win here would be just their third in conference on the season.

This Arizona team has looked like a group possessed in recent weeks. The Wildcats notched wins against the Los Angeles schools and dominated the Bay Area schools earlier this month. Interestingly enough, they are 4-0 ATS in conference road games, but just 0-1-2 in conference home games.

Player to Watch

Fultz is one of those rare do-it-all players you don’t find that often, making it all the more criminal that Washington is making him Ben Simmons 2.0. He is averaging 23 PPG, 6 RPG, and 6 RPG, a great stat line in itself, but Fultz doesn’t stop there. He is also stealing the ball from opponents a little less than twice a game and blocking someone’s shot at an impressive rate.

He is the only Huskies player that can create his own shot as well. The team has been relying on him to take over 20 shots a night over the last five games in order to try to knock off foes, but he is often doing it alone. Still, other than in an embarrassing loss to Cal, he is hitting at least 48 percent of his shots over his last four games.

Matchup to Watch

Sean Miller and the Wildcats are thrilled that Allonzo Trier Jr. is finally allowed to play again. Trier was suspended for the first 19 games of the season because of a positive test for a PED, but made his return against UCLA last Saturday. He was noticeably a little rusty when he first stepped on the court, but quickly warmed up and notched 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Trier was one of Arizona’s best players last season and his long-awaited return is going to make the Wildcats the favorite in the conference. He can create chances for teammates and play strong defense on opposing guards in addition to knocking down shots. With Trier back, this team is ready to start turning up the heat on offense, especially against a Washington team that has shown little defensive ability.

Arizona is going to be a double-digit favorite in this game. The Wildcats have a deadly combination in Trier and freshman Lauri Markkanen, who has been given the chance to shine in Trier’s absence. Markkanen is a 7-footer who is knocking down 50 percent of his three-point chances and that range has cleared the middle for guards to slash and kick.

The Wildcats are already receiving a lot of buzz and this game will only heighten it. Washington is going to be no match for this team and Arizona should register a big victory.
