Oklahoma State has played one decent team so far this season and got blasted. The Cowboys lost to Texas A&M in a neutral site game by 17 points and weren’t even close. Oklahoma State has a 7-1 record thanks in large part to a very easy schedule and has failed to cover in each of its last three games. This will be a big test for them. Under is 6-0 in Oklahoma State games this season.
The Shockers are 7-1 as well, but their strength of schedule has been much tougher than that of the Cowboys. Their lone loss was a one-point nailbiter against Notre Dame but they did win and cover against Baylor and Marquette. Under has cashed in three of Wichita State’s last four games.
Last Meeting
Wichita State is looking for a bit of revenge after what happened when these teams met last year. The Shockers are normally one of the better defensive teams in the country, but the Cowboys smoked them last season.
Oklahoma State hit over 52 percent of its field goals and knocked down 50 percent of its three-pointers in the 93-76 win. Jawun Evans and Jeffrey Carroll were both lights out in the win for the Cowboys combining to hit 17 of 26 shots from the floor.
The Cowboys won this game despite getting in serious foul trouble. Oklahoma State committed 32 fouls in this game and sent Wichita State to the line an amazing 47 times. That helped mitigate an awful shooting night for the Shockers, they shot just 36.5 percent from the floor and 17.6 percent from three, but wasn’t enough to lead them to the win.
Matchup to Watch
Oklahoma State comes into this game boasting some of the best defensive numbers in the country. The Cowboys are holding opponents to 28.6 percent from beyond the three-point line this season and that has helped them be one of the best scoring defenses in the country.
Conversely, Wichita State is one of the best scoring teams in the nation. The Shockers are 20th in the country in scoring and are one of a handful of teams that is knocking down 50 percent or more of their field goals on the year.
Like always, the Shockers are extremely deep. Gregg Marshall uses a lot of players in his scheme and that will be a tough matchup for the Cowboys. They lost most of their starters from last season and are building from scratch.

Expect the Shockers to be a road favorite in this one. Wichita State came into this season with a ton of hype and has lived up to it thus far. The Shockers constantly substitute players and won’t wear down over the course of the team like other teams will.
Oklahoma State is better than people think, but Wichita State will be too much. The Shockers are going to remember last season’s result and will use that to fuel their victory this time around.
