Every No. 1 seed has advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. But there is truly only one top seed. The Connecticut Huskies have long been the most dominant program in women’s college basketball and are two wins away from yet another national championship.
Connecticut’s Final Four trek will begin in the national semifinals with a matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. On the other side of the bracket is the other No. 1 seeds. The Louisville Cardinals will face off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
UConn is the heavy favorite to come away with wins in each of the next two rounds and cut down the nets yet again. The spreads are going to be large in NCAA women’s basketball wagering.

Odds Analysis
Connecticut has gone undefeated in 36 games this season, dominating everyone in its path. The Huskies’ closest margin of victory in the tournament has been by 13 points over Duke. UConn won its first round game by a ridiculous 88 points and also has wins of 25 and 29 points on its way to the Final Four. The Huskies will be heavy favorites to win the national title.
The team that may have the best chance of outlasting the Huskies to win the title is the Mississippi State Bulldogs. They are 36-1 on the season and have won each of their four tournament games by double digits, including an 89-73 victory over UCLA in the Elite Eight. Mississippi State gets the advantage of avoiding UConn in the semifinals but will still likely need to beat the Huskies in the championship game for the title.
Louisville certainly seems to have a chance against Mississippi State. The Cardinals are 36-2 on the season and have won every one of their games by 18 points or more. Louisville was Oregon State by 23 points last time out. The Cardinals may be the underdogs against Mississippi State but if they play well it seems like Louisville can certainly capture the win.
Notre Dame has put together a great season and enters with a 33-3 record. The Fighting Irish beat Oregon by 10 points last time out to make it here but unfortunately have to match up against UConn. Notre Dame is going to have the longest odds to win the national title because it is going to be a huge underdog in the Final Four semifinals.
