NCAA Men’s Basketball ATS Picks - Texas AM at No. 8 Auburn Game Preview

Texas-AM-at-Auburn

The Auburn Tigers have been one of the most pleasant surprises in college basketball this season and will take another step toward an SEC title with a win over the Texas A&M Aggies this week. Auburn is ranked in the top-10 nationally and has only one loss in conference play while everyone else has at least three.

The Tigers are the better team and play at home so they should be substantial favorites to take care of business. Texas A&M is aiming to grab a decent seed in March Madness and could add a fantastic win to its resume by pulling off this upset.

This is an intriguing conference game between a pair of talented teams and could be an entertaining matchup.

Player To Watch

Tyler Davis — Texas A&M’s junior center has nine double-doubles this season. The Aggies will need him to put up some big numbers in this one in order to keep them in this one.

Davis comes into this matchup on a high after having finished with a combined 27 points and 20 rebounds in back-to-back victories over Arkansas and South Carolina. Four of his nine double-doubles have come in the last six games.

Davis is averaging 14.3 points and 8.9 rebounds on the season. The big man’s rebounding skills will be extra critical in this matchup against Auburn because of how good the Tigers are offensively — taking away second-looks will be key.

Auburn may not be quite in the same stratosphere as fellow top-ranked teams like Purdue, Villanova and Michigan State, but has been consistent and will certainly grab a top seed come March.

Texas A&M is a worthy foe and may be able to stick around in this one. The Aggies have been inconsistent in conference play but do have some talent on the roster.

Keep a close eye out for the spread. If Auburn is given a little too much credit, Texas A&M might be the right choice to cover. However, Auburn is the easy call on which team will come away with the victory. Texas A&M will succeed at slowing this game down, so take the “under” on the scoring total.

NCAA Men’s Basketball Odds: Auburn 76, Texas A&M 72
