The Texas Longhorns are right on the bubble of the NCAA Tournament, but might be on the outside looking in if they can’t spring an upset down the stretch. Their best chance at impressing the selection committee will be by finding a way to knock off top-10 foe the Kansas Jayhawks.
Kansas gets to play the game at home so it will be a tall task for Texas to come away with the victory. The Jayhawks seem to be in line for a No. 2 seed in March Madness with a good finish and after a slow start they have a chance to win the Big 12 championship.
This game is meaningful to both teams but the Jayhawks will be the clear favorites to take care of business.

Key Stat
4. That’s the number of losses for Texas in its past five games, which has put its NCAA Tournament chances in jeopardy. The Longhorns do not have a good overall record but have played a tough schedule and have some solid wins.
The only team they have beaten during this recent stretch was Oklahoma on the road. Texas lost to Kansas State, TCU and Baylor before beating the Sooners. The Longhorns fell again last time out to Kansas State again.
Texas has some intriguing players and could be the type of team to give a higher seed some issues in March Madness, but the Longhorns need to make it there first.
Player To Watch
Devonte’ Graham -- Kansas has five different players averaging at least 12.3 points per game, so Texas will have to be ready for a variety of weapons. However, Graham is definitely the go-to guy of the group.
He is averaging 17.6 points, 7.2 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. Graham is shooting just 40.1 percent from the field but is connecting on 41.6 percent of his three-point field goals.
Graham had a big game last time out, contributing 23 points, seven assists and five rebounds in a win over Oklahoma.

Kansas has really found a groove of late and is hoping to end the year on a high note in advance of the NCAA Tournament. Texas could really use a win in this one to end its skid and improve its March Madness viability, but it’s not going to happen.
Jump on the Jayhawks to cruise to the victory. The Longhorns do not have the type of scoring power to keep up if Kansas gets rolling, which is likely to happen. Even though the Jayhawks will be sizable favorites in this game, they should still be able to cover the spread.
Texas is really going to be sweating out the end of the season and a loss here will not help its cause. Consider the “over” as Kansas should be able to step on the gas.
