NCAA Tournament Bubble Watch

2018-NCAAB-Bubble-Watch-Championship-Odds-preview-Bet-Online

For every Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky and Kansas that seemingly qualifies for the NCAA Tournament as high seeds regardless of being worthy, there are always teams on the bubble that don’t get in that likely should. The following is a list of teams I believe are Big Dance worthy and offer up some supreme value on the current NCAA Tournament futures odds at BookMaker.eu.

Don't miss any of the 2018 NCAA Tournament with the Final 4 taking place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX on March 31, 2018. Catch every moment of the games live on CBS.

Nebraska Cornhusker: 350-1

One can only applaud the job Tim Miles has done in Lincoln since taking over the Huskers stagnant basketball program. Unfortunately, the resume only speaks of a team destined for the NIT as opposed to the NCAA Tournament. The team’s best win to date has come against the Michigan Wolverines, and though it covered against both Purdue and Ohio State, winning the B1G tournament is likely all that will get Isaac Copeland and his mates into the dance. Regardless, there’s some nice value to be had at this offering that could allow for some lucrative hedging to be made down the road.

St. John’s Red Storm: 200-1

As it stands right now, Chris Mullins’ Johnnies stand no chance of getting at at-large bid to the dance with the team an even 13-13 on the year and a wretched 2-11 in Big East play. However, St. John’s is the healthiest it’s been all season and enters this week winners of three in a row against Villanova, Duke and Marquette. With a player as gifted as Shamorie Ponds on the roster, all this team needs to do to punch its ticket is stay hot and win the Big East tourney. A tall chore for sure, but it’s worth taking a flier on the team now just in case something miraculous occurs down the road.

Virginia Tech Hokies: 200-1

With wins now in tow against North Carolina and Virginia, Buzz Williams’ Hokies are likely shoo-ins to qualify for the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons. What should have the selection committee even more eager to add them to the field of 64 is the marked improvement the team showed in the second showdown with the Cavaliers. As potent an offense VTECH possesses, all it needs to do to make you some cash on the futures odds is get hot and get some favorable pairings come March. Should that occur, the Hokies could be dangerous. Especially after getting bounced in the Round of 64 against Wisconsin last year.

Arizona State Sun Devils: 120-1

Bobby Hurley’s kids started the year like a bat out of hell rattling off wins in each of their first 12 played games. Included in the mix were triumphs over Xavier and Kansas in the Phog Allen Fieldhouse. Unfortunately, ASU fizzled out once Pac-12 play tipped off losing three of their first before alternating wins and losses in six straight. The needle is once again pointed upwards however with Tra Holder and company logging three straight wins against Wazzou, USC and UCLA. Should they hold serve at home with the rematch against Arizona, they’ll no longer be a fringe Pac-12 team in the eyes of the selection committee.
