The two best teams during the 2018 college basketball regular season were the Villanova Wildcats and Virginia Cavaliers. Those two teams are No. 1 seeds in the 2018 NCAA Tournament and they are favored in March Madness odds. The Wildcats are the highest scoring team in college basketball, while the Cavaliers are the best defensive team. Bettors usually side with offense, which is why Villanova is listed as the top betting choice to win the 2018 NCAA Championship at odds of +500. Virginia is listed as the second choice at odds of +600.

Villanova and Virginia
Do you like offense or do you like defense? If you love scoring then Villanova is your team, as they lead the country in points per game at just over 87 per contest. If you love defense then Virginia is your squad, as they allow just 53 points per contest. Oddsmakers are giving more credit to Villanova, as they are the current betting favorite. Virginia could actually go off as the third or fourth choice to win the NCAA Tournament, as Duke and Kansas are getting a lot of attention. And don’t sleep on Xavier, who has senior Trevon Bluiett. The Musketeers made the Elite Eight last year in March Madness and they are similar in many respects to Villanova, as they score a lot of points.

March Madness Bracket
The next few days are all about filling out March Madness brackets. Once Thursday comes around the attention will be on the games, and people will be cheering for their picks. You should know that filling out a perfect bracket is not going to happen, as the odds are one in 9.2 quintillion. If you have a little knowledge, those odds are actually lower, at about 1 in 2 billion. Those are still long odds, as your chances of winning the lottery are actually better than filling out a perfect March Madness bracket.
If you want to win your March Madness bracket or March Madness pool, then you will not only need to pick the ultimate winner of the NCAA Tournament, you will need to pick a few upsets along the way. You obviously don’t want to pick any No. 16 seeds to win, but you might want to pick a couple of No. 12 or No. 13 seeds to win a game. You also may want to pick a few No. 7 or No. 8 seeds to win more than just one game. When it comes to picking the Final Four you really don’t want to get too cute, as top four seeds are usually the teams you want to focus on. Don’t pick all four No. 1 seeds, as at least one and as many as three No. 1 seeds will fail to make the Final Four. But make sure to include at least one top seed, as history tells us that at least one top seed will make the Final Four.
