The Golden State Warriors look like a shell of their former selves. Superstars Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are all banged up and it’s unknown if any of them will be able to play against the San Antonio Spurs this week.
It’s a huge break for San Antonio, which is battling to make the playoffs in the Western Conference. The Spurs normally would have been the underdog in this game but the absence of so many key players could make Golden State the underdog.
The Warriors have fallen into a tailspin of late without their full lineup and are unlikely to catch the Rockets for the top seed in the West. They are more worried about getting healthy for the postseason, and this is a situation the Spurs absolutely need to take advantage of in order to improve their postseason chances.

Odds Analysis
The Spurs are 39-30 straight up and 33-32-4 against the spread. San Antonio has gone 18-13-2 against the spread at home this season. The Spurs are 23-21-3 against the spread as the favorite this season.
The Warriors are 52-17 straight up and 29-39-1 against the spread. Golden State has gone covered in 14 of 34 attempts on the road this season. The Warriors have only been the underdog one time, which came recently because of the injuries. Golden State failed to cover in that contest and it could be the underdog again in this one without Durant and the Splash Brothers in NBA basketball betting.
Injury Report
The Warriors’ starting five on Saturday against the Suns was Draymond Green, Zaza Pachulia, Nick Young, Andre Iguodala and Quinn Cook. It’s a far cry from the group that is usually starting and dominates the rest of the NBA.
Curry has missed several games with an ankle injury while Thompson has been sidelined with a broken thumb. Durant was the most recent star to go down, as he is suffering from rib soreness. Thompson will definitely be out for this game.and Durant is also expected to be sidelined. If Curry can’t return Golden State will be missing its three leading scorers.
The Spurs are still without Kawhi Leonard, who has missed the majority of the season with a quadriceps issue. San Antonio was expected to be a title contender once again this season but the absence of Leonard has severely hurt the team’s standing.
Key Stat
8. That’s the current seed of the Spurs, which is the final spot in the Western Conference playoff bracket. San Antonio hasn’t missed the playoffs this century and you have to go all the way back to the year before they drafted Tim Duncan for the last time it was sitting at home in the first round.
The Spurs have the same record as the Pelicans and Jazz and are only two games back of the No. 4 seed Oklahoma City Thunder, so there is room to move up with a solid finish. However, the Spurs are only a game and a half ahead of both the Clippers and the Nuggets, so they are not out of the woods by any means.
Free NBA ATS Picks
The Warriors should be able to get all their stars back for the postseason and make another run for the title. But the Spurs catch a big break in this one. They have the superior talent on the floor and the home court advantage, so it is an easy call to take San Antonio in NBA basketball odds.
The Warriors should be the underdog for the second time this season and will fail to cover the spread.
NBA Odds: Spurs 102, Warriors 90
