The Denver Nuggets have been fantastic at home this season, which has kept them in playoff contention despite poor play on the road. They hope to the home court dominance continues next time out but it won’t be easy as they host the San Antonio Spurs.
Despite injuries keeping superstar Kawhi Leonard sidelined for much of the season, San Antonio continues to remain among the top teams in the Western Conference.
The Spurs have the better record but have not been great on the road this year so the Nuggets may actually be slight favorites in this matchup. It will be interesting to see where the oddsmakers set this spread.

Odds Analysis
The Spurs are 35-22 straight up and 27-26-4 against the spread. San Antonio has gone 11-16-2 attempting to cover the spread on the road this season. The Spurs have only been the underdog 15 times this season and have gone 6-8-1 against the spread in those contests.
The Nuggets are 30-26 straight up and 26-27-3 against the spread. Denver is 16-12-1 against the spread at home on the year. It is 17-17-1 against the spread as the favorite.
Key Stat
22. That’s the number of home wins the Nuggets have picked up this season, against only seven losses. Even though it is only sitting in eighth place in the West, Denver has been among the best teams in the league at home.
The Nuggets have been well below average on the road but are consistently tough to beat in Denver. The Nuggets boast wins over the Raptors, Warriors, Trail Blazers and Thunder, among others, in the comfort of home.
The team scores better there and it may be the best home court advantage of any place in the NBA based on such a wide discrepancy between their success there and on the road. San Antonio is three games under .500 in road matchups this year, which gives more fuel to the idea that the Nuggets may be able to come away with this win despite being the inferior team overall.
Injury Report
Each team will be without a key player in this one. Leonard continues to sit with a quadriceps issue and there has been no recent update on his status. He is expected to play again at some point this year but it is unknown when that will be.
Leonard was an MVP candidate last season but has only played a handful of games this year. The Spurs need to get him back to become a true title contender when the playoffs come around.
Denver is without big man Paul Millsap, who hurt his wrist in mid-November and has been sidelined ever since. He is targeting a return of mid-March, which would be a big boost for the Nuggets down the stretch.
Millsap is averaging 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds on the season but like Leonard has barely played.

The Spurs might be the better team, but this is the third straight road game on a trek of six in a row. It is a tough schedule and it may take its toll, especially in the thin air of Denver.
The Nuggets are the choice to keep their impressive home stretch rolling with a win over the Spurs. The spread could be close, so Denver makes sense as the pick to cover. The “over” should be a consideration as the Spurs will need to play faster than usual if they fall behind.
NBA Odds: Nuggets 113, Spurs 108
