While neither team is dominant, the Knicks have the talent advantage and the home court, so they shouldn’t have much trouble capturing this contest. Brooklyn has entered a rebuilding stage and lack enough star power to make a realistic run at the postseason.

Odds Analysis
The Knicks are 2-3 straight up on the season and also 2-3 against the spread. They have only been favored in one game this season but did cover in that contest. They will aim to double up both of those numbers against Brooklyn.
New York’s defense has been leaky this year, so an over/under that is on the high side would not be unexpected.
The Nets are 2-4 straight up but have done really well against the spread, covering in five of their first six contests. Expectations are low for Brooklyn this year, and it has taken advantage of favorable spreads by either winning or keeping the matchup close at the end.
Player To Watch
Bojan Bogdanovic - The third-year shooting guard has taken a step forward in his progress this season, averaging career highs with 15.2 points and 4.2 rebounds. There are many more minutes and shots to go around in Brooklyn with Joe Johnson and others gone, and Bogdanovic has taken advantage.
If the Nets can stick around in this game they will need to find some scoring. While Brook Lopez is the team’s best player, Brooklyn needs a complementary wing to light up the scoreboard, and so far Bogdanovic has shown to be that piece.
Key Stat
43.5. That’s the percentage Kristaps Porzingis is shooting from 3-point range this season. The Knicks’ burgeoning star is one of the best shooting big men in the league and is a real matchup problem for defenses.
Porzingis is averaging 17.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks on the year and is on his way to becoming New York’s best player. That label is currently held by leading scorer Carmelo Anthony, but Porzingis has everything you look for in a young player.
The Nets have to slow him down, because if both Anthony and Porzingis are getting their points, it could be hard for Brooklyn to keep pace.
Free NBA ATS Picks
The Nets are in total rebuild mode, and thus the expectations for them are low this season. Brooklyn has at least been competitive and has been a boon to bettors willing to back it as regular underdogs.
Keep an eye on the spread for this game, because if it gets unreasonably high the Nets could still be the choice. However, expect their good fortunes to end in this one. While Lopez should have a good game in the post, the Knicks are more talented nearly everywhere else on the court.
Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah are beginning to gain their footing with the team, joining as nice complementary pieces to the star duo of Anthony and Porzingis.
It remains to be seen if the Knicks can make a leap and be a legitimate factor in the East this season. However, there is little doubt this group should be able to take care of their home court against an inferior opponent.
Brooklyn may hang around in the first half but a big game from Porzingis could help the Knicks pull away for a double-digit win.
NBA Odds: Knicks 107, Nets 96
