NBA Odds - Bulls at Knicks Game Preview

2017-NBA-Bulls-at-Knicks-(ESPN)-Betting-Odds

So the New York Knicks brought in both former Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah this past offseason in hopes of the duo helping to lead the franchise back to the playoffs. Each is injured and out for the remainder of the season. The Knicks will miss the playoffs once again. The Bulls currently hold the No. 7 slot a game ahead of Miami. Isn’t it ironic… don’t ya think?

This war on the floor will go down Tuesday, April 4, 2017, 8 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden. The game will be televised live on CSN-Chicago and MSG. We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NBA Tuesday schedule.

Odds Analysis

The month of March was horrific for Fred Hoiberg and his staff as they watched their squad go on to lose nine of 13 before catching fire here late. Before Chicago’s mini hot streak, fans and the media wondered what the heck this team was actually doing. Why were they even competing knowing full well another likely first round exit in the playoffs was the best they could expect.

However, the team has been kicking butt and taking names over the last week in taking down three of the four playoff teams faced including the Cavs whom they swept in the regular season. Last time out, Jimmy Butler erupted to lead Chicago to the impressive 117-110 outright win as 8.5 point road underdogs to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Bulls will invade having covered five straight in the visitors role.

Injury Report

It’s only a matter of time until the Knicks press the reset button. It’s clearly not working with Phil Jackson calling the shots, and it doesn’t look to be getting any better. This sinking ship is making an embarrassment of a once proud franchise. The biggest news to come out of Madison Square Garden this season was Charles Oakley needing six security guards to drag him out kicking and screaming. That’s not good.

Adding insult to injury was yet another knew injury to D-Rose. While he failed to live up to the expectations put upon him at the beginning of the year, it’s still a big loss for a team that’s plummeted down the standings in recent weeks. Sunday’s 110-94 loss at home to Boston saw the Knicks fall to 2-8 straight up and 6-4 against the spread over their last 10 games. NY has officially been eliminated from playoff contention with five games remaining.

Player to Watch

With D-Wade done for the season, Jimmy Butler has taken his game to a new level. Since the veteran went down, “Buckets” has scored an average of 28.6 points per game and gone for 30+ points four times. He’ll take to the MSG hardwood having gone for 33 and 39 in his last two games, and with the Knicks owners of the league’s No. 24 ranked scoring defense, another pretty tally looks to be in the cards for Jimmy who is no doubt locked in at the moment.

This is a huge litmus test for Chicago. The recent run has no doubt been a welcome sight for sore eyes, but now it has to prove this streak isn’t just a late dash for the playoffs. NY isn’t a good basketball team. However, it’s taken each of the last four meetings from the Bulls both straight up and against the closing betting odds at BookMaker.eu including both meetings this season. The Bulls have failed to win or cover each of their last three trips to the Garden, and only have one cover dating back to 2013. Chicago’s best work has come in the underdog role of late, but if it’s to really be taken seriously in the East, it must come out on top of a game like this possibly sans Carmelo in order to hold onto its current seeding.
