NBA Odds - Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors Game Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers aren’t quite done yet. Facing a sweep, LeBron James and his teammates put together an inspired performance in Game 4, rushing out to a big lead early and then cruised to the win. Cleveland led from wire-to-wire and has finally picked up some momentum while it aims to add some intrigue to the NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors are still in the driver’s seat as they remain up 3-1 and will aim to close it out in Game 5 back at home. The Warriors will certainly be favored to win Game 5 and wrap up the series at home.

Cleveland has played much better the past two games but really needed a split to get back in this series. The Warriors have been dominant at home throughout the postseason and despite struggling last time out, should leave this one crowned NBA champions.

This series will continue on Monday, June 12, 2017, at 9 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The game will be televised live on ABC.

NBA Odds

The Warriors were five-point favorites in Game 4 but didn’t come close to living up to that billing. The Cavaliers rolled to the 137-116 win, easily covering and paying off +190 on the moneyline.

Golden State covered both of the first two games at home in this series despite being a big favorite, and is listed at -8.5 in this one. The scoring total is set at 231. The Warriors are listed at -370 on the moneyline to wrap up the championship in Game 5, while Cleveland is the +296 underdog.

The Warriors are 82-16 straight up and 51-43-4 against the spread. Golden State has gone 25-21-3 against the spread at home this season and 49-42-4 against the spread as the favorite.

The Cavaliers are 64-35 straight up and 44-51-4 against the spread. Cleveland is 22-26-2 against the spread on the road this season and has only covered six in 19 attempts as the underdog.

Last Time Out

The Cavaliers scored 49 points to jump out to a 16-point lead and never looked back. Cleveland outscored the Warriors in every quarter, never allowing the vaunted Golden State lineup to get close.

Kyrie Irving had 40 points on 15-of-27 shooting and hit seven three-pointers. LeBron James was great as well, finishing with 31 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The Cavaliers shot a sparkling 52.9 percent from the floor and only turned the ball over 11 times.

Kevin Durant led the way for the Warriors, finishing with 35 points, but both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both struggled from the field. Golden State shot only 28.2 percent from three-point range in the contest.

Key Stat

24. That’s the number of three pointers the Cavaliers buried in Game 4, which set an NBA Finals record. They shot a blistering 53.3 percent, with Irving, Kevin Love (6-of-8) and J.R. Smith (5-of-9) leading the way.

Golden State is known as the dominant three-point shooting team, but the Cavaliers have their fair share of long-range bombers. Kyle Korver hit one from downtown and he is the team’s best three-point shooter.

The Warriors have the superior team so Cleveland needs to shoot well from three-point range once again in Game 5 in order to have a chance at pulling the upset.

Free NBA ATS Pick

Cleveland finally picked up a win last time out based to an unbelievably efficient offense. However, don’t put too much stock in it. There is no way the Cavs shoot that well again, while the Warriors should be better from the field when they go home.

There has been an overreaction from the Cavaliers’ win, as the spread is too low for a game in Golden State featuring one of the best teams ever. Choose the Warriors to win the title and cover the spread in Game 5.

NBA Odds: Warriors 120, Cavaliers 110
