The Washington Wizards have been fantastic at home this season but have quite the matchup next time out. They will host the Golden State Warriors in what is shaping up to be a memorable clash.
The Warriors have the best record in the NBA and are the clear-cut favorites to win the title. However, the Wizards have played really well lately and have shot up to the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Golden State will be favored in this one, of course, but don’t immediately count out the Wizards. They are a legitimate foe and this could be a competitive matchup.
At 7 p.m. ET, tune into NBATV for live television coverage of this NBA basketball game on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

Odds Analysis
The Wizards are 34-23 straight up and 32-25 against the spread. Washington has played in 32 home games this season and has covered in 20 of them. The Wizards are 11-10 against the spread as the underdog on the season.
The Warriors are 49-9 straight up and 28-28-2 against the spread. They have played in 29 games away from home and have gone 13-15-1 against the spread in those contests. Golden State has been favored in every game this season and that should remain in this one, although the spread may not be huge.
Key Stat
18. That’s the number of wins in the past 23 outings for the Wizards. They have really hit their stride and have an eye on the No. 2 seed in the East. While the Cavaliers are the clear-cut favorite in the conference, beyond them it is wide open.
The Wizards are three games behind the Celtics for the second spot so will need to play well the rest of the way. They have lost two in a row despite the impressive run lately and hope to get back on track.
The Wizards have been impressive offensively during this winning period. They have to be efficient on that side of the court in this one in order to keep up with the high-flying Warriors.
Player to Watch
Kevin Durant -- When the Warriors’ star forward was entering free agency after last season, some thought he may go to the Wizards because he is from the area. However, Durant shot that down pretty early.
He eventually chose to go to Golden State to join a Warriors team that was already supremely talented. He has fit in well, averaging 15.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Durant is shooting a robust 53.9 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range. He will be a tough cover for the Wizards, who don’t really have the type of big defender able to stick with a star like Durant.
If he goes off, it will be a tough reminder for the Wizards fans in attendance what they are missing out on after some pipe dreams as he entered free agency.

While the Celtics look like the second-best team in the East, the Wizards are not too far behind. They have put it together of late, leaning on John Wall and Bradley Beal to lead the way. The Wizards are closing in on a Southeast Division title but have bigger aspirations of making a deep playoff run.
They need to stack up wins to move up the standings, but it will be hard in this one. Even on the road the Warriors have so much talent they will be the team to beat. The Wizards aren’t quite good enough to pull off this upset, but they may be able to hang around for awhile.
Keep an eye on the spread as the Wizards may be able to cover if it’s too big.
NBA Odds: Warriors 121, Wizards 112
