NBA Odds - Memphis Grizzlies at Los Angeles Clippers Game Preview

2016-NBA-Grizzlies-at-Clippers-Betting-Odds

It’s little surprise to see the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio jump out of the gates quickly, but they haven’t been as good as one particular Western Conference foe in the earlygoing. The Los Angeles Clippers will aim to continue their dominance in a home game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Clippers have won nine of their first 10 contests on the season, jumping to the front of the pack in the West. It will be a challenge to remain ahead of the Warriors and Spurs all season but Los Angeles will do its best to set itself up in nice position.

Don't miss the hardwood action from the Staples Center at 10:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Catch every moment of the game live on ESPN.

We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NBA Wednesday schedule.

Odds Analysis

The Clippers should be sizable favorites to take care of business in this game since they are playing at home. Los Angeles is 8-2 against the spread this season, which is impressive considering the Clippers have been favored in all but one game.

The Clippers have covered in four of five home games this season and will aim to do so again against the Grizzlies.

Memphis is 4-5 straight up and 3-6 against the spread in 2016. The Grizzlies have covered half the time at home but are 0-3 attempting to do so on the road.

Player to Watch

DeAndre Jordan - The Clippers’ big man doesn’t do a lot of scoring, but he is integral defensively and rebounding the ball. Jordan is averaging 10.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per contest.

Memphis’ two main scorers down low are Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. Jordan is athletic enough to guard them both, and if he can help keep them in check it will give the Clippers a big leg up.

The Grizzlies play good defense so the Clippers may not shoot a great percentage in this one. That’s another area where Jordan can be valuable, because if he can pick up some offensive rebounds it will result in either easy put-backs or extra possessions.

Revenge Angle

The Grizzlies lost to the Clippers at home early in the year and will aim to return the favor even though the odds are against them. Los Angeles picked up the 99-88 victory in early November, using a strong second quarter to take control and holding on for the win.

Clippers point guard Chris Paul was the catalyst, pouring in 27 points while adding 11 assists and six steals in the victory. Mike Conley had 30 points and 10 assists and the Grizzlies were plus-4 when he was on the court but struggled badly without him.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Clippers have had the Big Three of Paul, Jordan and Blake Griffin together for a while and have been among the best teams in the West for several years. However, they are hoping to take another step forward as this could be the last year the core of the team is together unless it can show it has the capability of getting over the hump.

Los Angeles has a fantastic plus-15.1 scoring differential, meaning its record hasn’t been based on any sort of good luck early on. The Grizzlies used to be one of the better teams in the West but have slowly fallen off and aren’t as talented as some of the best teams in the conference.

The Clippers are the stronger team and are playing at home in this one. They have already beaten the Grizzlies once at home this season and there’s no reason to believe they won’t be able to do it again in this matchup. Los Angeles should win this game by double digits.

NBA Odds: Clippers 103, Grizzlies 91
