A pair of Western Conference power teams will match-up Wednesday when the Los Angeles Clippers host the Oklahoma City Thunder. Plenty of scoring is expected making live betting at BookMaker the place to be with back-and-forth action and plenty of opportunities to wager and win.
You can bet on NBA odds atBookMaker.euevery day of the season.
WHEN THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER HAVE THE BALL
The Thunder have one of the league’s most explosive offenses with Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant ranking No. 2 and 3 in the league in player efficiency ratings. Westbrook is No. 2 in the league in assist ratio behind his opponent Chris Paul. Westbrook also leads the league in usage rate, which is the number of possessions a player uses per 40 minutes.
Durant’s true shooting percentage is No. 2 in the league while scoring 28 points per game on 51 percent shooting including nearly 40 percent from the arc and 90 percent from the free throw line. Westbrook’s outside shooting has been an issue hitting less than 30 percent from long range.
The Thunder have a 10-game lead in the Northwest Division but suffered a disheartening defeat in overtime Saturday to the Golden State Warriors, 121-118. A letdown is likely Monday at Sacramento, and Wednesday’s game could be an energy-saving effort against the Clippers as the Thunder travel to Golden State for a rematch with the Warriors Thursday.
Serge Ibaka will key the interior attack while centers Steven Adams and Enes Kanter try to contain Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.
WHEN THE LA CLIPPERS HAVE THE BALL
The Clippers are 21-7 playing without forward Blake Griffin, who has been out since late December due to injury. Los Angeles is 38-20 but 15-games behind record-setting division leader Golden State.
Clippers point guard Chris Paul has carried the team and shined, but he sat with his ankles in ice, his thigh wrapped in ice, and wrapping around his right arm following Saturday’s win over Sacramento, 117-107. A variety of minor ailments plague the Los Angeles Clippers guard these days, but he still poured in a season-high 40 points against the Kings along with 13 assists and eight rebounds. Newly acquired forward Jeff Green added 22 points for Los Angeles to give them more scoring strength.
Paul did that despite an undisclosed right arm injury the guard said he suffered in Wednesday's loss at Denver. He also has suffered through a sore left calf and bruised left thigh recently. Sharp shooting guard J.J. Redick should get his share in this contest while the league’s No. 2 rebounder with 14 per game DeAndre Jordan makes the difference for LA on the interior.
LIVE BETTING SCENARIO
This high-paced back and forth game is going to offer lots of live betting opportunities with adjusted prices and totals. The fast pace and transition basketball could potentially produce plenty of scoring, but the posted total will be very high along with adjusted prices in live betting. Perimeter play will be highlighted with Paul pushing the ball and Westbrook doing the same for the Thunder.
But the scheduling situation combined with the high total brings caution despite the Thunder scoring at least 116 points in their last three games entering the week with all three games sailing over the total. Westbrook is a strong defender who can slow Paul, and the ailments to the Clippers star point guard will be a key in watching this game develop from a live betting perspective.
These two teams played December 21 on this court and the Clippers held on for a 100-99 win with a posted total of 210. The point guards were the stars as Westbrook poured in 33 points and Paul 32. Blake Griffin played in that contest but the Clippers star forward remains out with a hand injury since late December.
The total will be higher in this contest, but I wouldn’t play it that way despite the public’s support for more scoring.
