NBA Odds - Oklahoma City Thunder at Minnesota Timberwolves Game Preview

Thunder-at-Timberwolves-NBATV-bm

Minnesota is a lottery team but has gone .500 at home on the season so this should actually be a competitive matchup despite a disparity in the records. The Thunder is pretty much locked into the No. 6 seed in the West, so this game won’t mean a ton to them.

This war on the floor will go down Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 10:30 p.m. ET at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game will be televised live on NBATV.

We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NBA Tuesday schedule.

NBA Odds

The Thunder is 45-34 straight up and 43-36 against the spread. Oklahoma City has covered in 17 of 39 attempts on the road. The Thunder is 32-17 against the spread as the favorite this season and figures to give a couple of points if they are full strength for this matchup.

The Timberwolves are 31-48 straight up and 35-43-1 against the spread. Minnesota has played in 40 home games this season and has covered in half of them. The Timberwolves are 21-22-1 against the spread as the underdog this season.

Player to Watch

Karl Anthony Towns -- The Timberwolves have a bright future because of the duo of Towns and Andrew Wiggins. The team has once again missed the playoffs this season but seems to be on the right track with a lot of young talent.

Towns is averaging 24.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game on the year. He is shooting 53.7 percent from the field and is hitting 36.1 percent from three-point range.

Towns had 32 points and 13 rebounds last time out, but the Timberwolves came up on the short end against the Trail Blazers.

Key Stat

42. Russell Westbrook set a new NBA record by recording that many triple-doubles in one season last time out. The Thunder’s star point guard has clinched averaging a triple-double on the season as he is putting up an incredible 31.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists. He joins Oscar Robertson as the only two players in NBA history to average a triple-double for an entire season.

Westbrook is shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range. He is the front-runner for the MVP based on his ridiculous individual season. Westbrook hopes to lead his team into the playoffs with some momentum.

The Timberwolves are poor defensively and this figures to be another big game for Westbrook. It’s been a phenomenal season and he is the reason why Oklahoma City is in the playoffs.

While the Thunder has been good this season, the location of this game matters a ton. Minnesota is solid at home and hopes to perform well in front of its fans despite another disappointing season.

The duo of Towns and Wiggins has made strides this year, and they are getting some help from Ricky Rubio and Zach LaVine. The Timberwolves need to stay focused throughout because defensive lulls often result in poor results.

Oklahoma City will have the best player on the court but the supporting cast isn’t great. Take the Timberwolves to pull off a mini upset in this one as Oklahoma City’s road woes will continue. Both teams score points at a nice clip, so this could be an entertaining back and forth affair.

Keep an eye on the scoring total as this one could very well go “over.”

NBA Odds: Timberwolves 110, Thunder 106
