The Suns’ players will be giving it their all but the team would be happy with a loss in a matchup against the Sacramento Kings to end their season. Between the home court advantage and a superior record, the Kings will likely be small favorites, but they are also a lottery team.
There won’t be much motivation for either side in this one, which could make it a tough game to peg. By default, Sacramento will be looked upon as the team which should win.
This war on the floor will go down Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 10:30 p.m. ET at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. The game will be televised live on NBATV.
We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NBA Tuesday schedule.
NBA Odds
The Suns are 23-57 straight up and 39-40-1 against the spread. Phoenix has only won nine games on the road all season and has covered in 18 of its 40 attempts with one push. The Suns are 36-30-1 against the spread as the underdog this season.
The Kings are 31-48 straight up and 40-37-2 against the spread. Sacramento has played in 39 home games this season and has gone 19-18-2 against the spread in those contests. The KIngs have only been favored 19 times this season, covering in eight of them.
Key Stat
7. That’s the number of wins, in 22 games, that the Kings have accumulated since trading DeMarcus Cousins. The talented but mercurial forward averaged 27.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in his time with the team but was a divisive player on the court and in the locker room.
There’s no question the Kings are less talented without Cousins in the fold, and have struggled the rest of the season. That’s something to keep in mind when the spread comes out. While Sacramento has a better record than Phoenix, most of its wins came with Cousins leading the charge.
Without him, these teams look pretty even in terms of talent, and only the home court advantage will likely make Sacramento a small favorite.
Player to Watch
Devin Booker -- The young Suns guard continues to improve and has quickly become one of the more talented players to watch in the future. He is averaging 22.1 points and 3.4 assists per game. Booker is shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three-point range.
He showed his preternatural scoring ability recently when he put up an unreal 70 points on the road against the Celtics. The Suns lost that game, which has been a common theme this year, getting nice individual accomplishments from young players but still coming out on the wrong end of the final score.
Booker figures to lead the Suns in scoring for several ensuing years and will aim to keep sharpening his craft in this one. The Kings should worry about him the most as the rest of the team isn’t on Booker’s level when it comes to creating scoring opportunities.
Free NBA ATS Pick
The Suns don’t want to win this game in case it hurts their lottery percentages, but it might not matter. Booker is playing well and the Suns have been playing hard down the stretch as their young players look to make an impression for next season.
Phoenix has been awful on the road this year, but it has also usually faced off with teams much better than the Kings. Sacramento is not a good team without Cousins and that point will be driven home in this one.
Booker should have a big day to help the Suns pull off the road upset to wrap up the regular season.
NBA Odds: Suns 111, Kings 108
