NBA Odds - San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies Game Preview

Spurs-at-Grizzlies-Game-6-bm

The Spurs are the No. 2 seed and have taken care of business at home but would like to avoid a Game 7 by getting this one. Despite the previous two losses in Memphis, the Spurs may be slight favorites to pick up the win since they are the superior team and are usually solid away from home.

This war on the floor will go down Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The game will be televised live.

NBA Odds

The Spurs were 10.5-point favorites in Game 5 and still covered, using a late run to capture the game by a score of 116-103. The scoring total was set at only 188.5 and the “over” covered easily.

San Antonio improved to 64-23 straight up and 44-41-2 against the spread on the season. The Spurs have gone 22-19-2 against the spread on the road and are 39-40-1 against the spread as the favorite.

The Grizzlies are 45-42 straight up and 43-44 against the spread this year. Memphis has played in 43 home games and has covered in 23 of them, including the past two here in the playoffs. The Grizzlies are 23-20 against the spread as the underdog this year.

Last Time Out

Patty Mills was tremendous off the bench for the Spurs in Game 5, scoring 20 points in only 22 minutes of action to help his team to the victory. When San Antonio has struggled this series it’s because star Kawhi Leonard hasn’t gotten enough offensive help. Leonard had 28 points and six assists in this one and got enough help.

Mike Conley had a big game for the Grizzlies, finishing with 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting while adding six assists and four steals. Memphis shot 51.4 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from three-point range and 90.9 percent from the line, which would usually be enough to get a shot at the upset, but the Spurs shot 52.5 percent from the floor and made half of their 28 three-point attempts to outlast Memphis.

Player To Watch

Zach Randolph -- The Grizzlies power forward needs to have a good game next time out to give his team a chance at extending the series. Randolph can be instant offense, which is a big deal for a team which is limited with its number of scorers.

Randolph has been much better at home, averaging 16.5 points per game and hauling down 9.5 rebounds in the team’s two victories. He is averaging 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the team’s losses in San Antonio.

Conley should be good again and Marc Gasol is reliable, but if the Grizzlies don’t have their third scoring option step up, they could be in trouble.

Free NBA ATS Pick

Memphis has been pesky and will have confidence as it heads home for this critical Game 6 matchup. The Spurs have yet to win on the road in the postseason but they were very good at doing so in the regular season.

Memphis is going to make sure this one close and it could be a defensive battle. However, the Spurs have the superior depth and the best player on the court in Leonard. Take San Antonio to wrap up this series in six games with a road victory.

NBA Odds: Spurs 94, Grizzlies 90
