The Golden State Warriors now have better than a 65 percent chance to get to 73 wins to break the all-time record for victories in a season. Live bettors will love the opportunity in front of them on Tuesday night, as they get the Washington Wizards in town right in the middle of a long and arduous West Coast swing.
You'll find all of the NBA odds at BookMaker.eu for this and every game of the season.
SCHEDULING
This West Coast run for the Wizards is pivotal. They're 2.5-games back of the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and they've got a far more winnable game on Wednesday coming against Sacramento. We're not suggesting that this game is going to get punted, but if the Dubs open up their ledger early in this one and have a huge lead in the first half, this game could get ugly in the second half when Washington realizes that it can fight another day against the Kings on Wednesday.
The Dubs weren't able to cover massive spreads against the Mavericks and Sixers at home on Friday and Sunday, but that isn't going to stop them here at home on Tuesday. They're marching towards that elusive mark of 73 wins, and Washington should be merely a speed bump.
If there's a concern for Golden State, it's that the team has to go to Salt Lake City on Wednesday for a game with the Jazz.
KEY MATCHUP
Washington has improved its perimeter defense just a bit, but it still ranks No. 27 in the league against the three, allowing teams to hit 37 percent of their outside shots.
When these two teams met the first time, live bettors were salivating at all of the opportunities the Warriors had from distance. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined to go 17-of-28 from beyond the arc, and Golden State hit a stunning 20 threes on 41 attempts.
The Wizards haven't found any answers on the perimeter for sure. John Wall did what he could in that game, shooting 17-of-25 from the field and scoring 41 points, but even after a performance like that at home, the Dubs still walked out of D.C. with the 134-121 win and cover.
If the Wiz haven't learned their lesson, they could easily let Curry and Thompson go on a barrage in this game, and when that happens, there isn't a team in the NBA that can slow these two down. Live bettors have made gobs of money backing Golden State when it starts to really get that mojo going, and this game might be a perfect example of that.
KEY STATS & TRENDS
We're starting to really see Golden State struggle against these massive point spreads. The NBA team has comfortably won games for the most part but after failing against a whopping 21.5-point spread against Philadelphia on Sunday night, the Warriors dropped to just 1-3 ATS in their last four games in which they were laying double-digits.
Washington has only played one game in its last eight in which it was an underdog. The good news for live bettors? That game resulted in a 117-102 romp of the Hawks on the road.
