On the brink of elimination the No. 3 Los Angeles Clippers ( 2-3 SU, 2-3 ATS ) seek to extend their series with the No. 6 San Antonio Spurs ( 3-2 SU, 3-2 ATS ) to a seventh game when the teams meet Wednesday. You can watch the game live on TNT.
The Clippers couldn’t overcome their own mistakes and some questionable calls by the officiating crew and find themselves one game away from another early playoff exit after Tuesday’s 111-107 loss. This back-and-forth series has seen the road team win three times and the Clippers need to get a fourth to extend it the full length.
It’s truly a shame that this classic matchup comes in the first round and a team that’s an actual contender gets bumped out of the postseason tournament. But hey, that’s life in the NBA. The Spurs got the upperhand with a Game Five win Tuesday and can eliminate the Clippers on their own floor. They better take care of business because we don’t see them getting a third road win in this series.
KEY INJURY
There are no injuries to report.
QUOTE TO NOTE
“We can win anywhere. I have total confidence in our team. Most people had us losing this series, but for us, we feel like we have a great shot. We just have to go there and get it done and come back home.” – Clippers guard Jamal Crawford

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION
The Clippers already stared down the barrel of a must-win situation in Game Four, pulling out an impressive win in San Antonio Sunday. After losing homecourt advantage with a loss Tuesday, the Clips are once again faced with task of getting a road win against the defending champs, only this time their season hinges on the outcome. The Clippers haven’t played poorly, with the exception of their 27-point blowout loss in Game Three, the Spurs have just been better when it mattered most. A better shooting night would certainly help. The Clips made just one of 14 three-point attempts and 26 of 42 free throws and still had a chance to win the game.
Tim Duncan continues to defy Father Time and put the Spurs on his broad shoulders in what’s been a most impressive series for the man who turned 39 last week. Duncan had another stellar outing Tuesday with 21 points and 11 rebounds and has four double-doubles in the series while playing 35 minutes a game. He had a wicked stuff on Blake Griffin late in the game and contested Griffin in the final seconds on his floater that hit the rim before DeAndre Jordan tipped the ball in the cylinder.
They were widely counted out after falling behind two games to one in the series before winning Game Four in San Antonio. But this is a harder challenge for the Clippers with no cushion should they lose. The Clips aren’t ready to concede anything just yet and don’t expect Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and company to roll over. “Close out game, elimination game for them so we’ve got to be ready to go. Series isn’t over,” Griffin stated. This series seems destined to go seven games and the Clippers oblige with a gut-check win.
