2016-The-Voice-Betting-Picks

With the final season of "American Idol" having come and gone, lots of folks are turning to "The Voice" to get their fix for rooting for complete strangers in a singing competition. In other words: It's heating up.

The first two artists saved this past week, and therefore moving onto the Top 10 were Mary Sarah, from Team Blake, and Nick Hagelin from Team Christina.

In case you forgot, Nick was eliminated in the Knockout Rounds and brought back by Xtina in the Live Playoffs. Talk about nine lives! He continued to strut his stuff with John Mayer’s “Your Body Is a Wonderland.” Shelton commended him on picking his guitar back up saying it had “centered” him and calling it one of Hagelin’s “better performances.”

Carson then announced that Adam’s Laith Al-Saadi was also moving on to the Top 10, along with Christina’s artist Alisan Porter, who has been a front runner throughout the season.

Laith, the bearded guitarist/singer, gave quite the gritty performance of “Ma,ke It Rain.” Shelton said the coaches eagerly anticipated Al-Saadi’s performances each week and called him a “breath of fresh air.” Levine told Al-Saadi he was “amazing.”

Next up, Carson gathered the seven remaining contestants. This time, it was Hannah Huston, from Pharrell’s team, and Paxton Ingram, from Blake’s team, who were announced to be moving on, leaving just five left in jeopardy.

Preschool teacher Huston gave one of her best performances to date with Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me," a singing competition staple.

To assist in this breaking of the tension, we were then offered a glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes in a montage clip. Soon enough, however, Carson was back to reading the results. He revealed that Shalyah Fearing (Team Adam), Adam Wakefield (Team Blake) and Bryan Bautista (Team Christina) got enough viewer votes to advance to the Top 10, leaving Adam’s Owen Danoff and Pharrell’s comeback artist, Daniel Passino, as the bottom 2.

Shelton had correctly predicted that Wakefield’s fans would “worship him” after his spot-on performance of Journey’s “Lights." Shelton said he couldn’t even think some of the notes Wakefield had sung.

As for the dueling duo, Owen is no stranger to the bottom, as he fought back to win America’s Instant Save after falling at the bottom last week, too. The guys each got to sing one song before the viewers had a five minute window to vote for their favorite on Twitter, determining who would move on.

Daniel sang first, and his performance of “Jealous” by Nick Jonaswas solid. Owen was tough competition, though, and also killed it, despite briefly forgetting some lyrics.

It was Daniel who got the majority of Twitter votes, sending Owen home and leaving Adam with just two contestants remaining in the competition.

Here’s where the coaches teams stand:

Christina: Nick Hagelin, Alisan Porter, Bryan Bautista

Adam: Laith Al-Saadi, Shalyah Fearing

Blake: Mary Sarah, Paxton Ingram, Adam Wakefield

Pharrell: Hannah Huston, Daniel Passino
