Gildan New Mexico Bowl: Arizona (-10) vs. New Mexico
Saturday, December 19, 2:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Bob Davie and Rich Rodriguez were both considered options for Power 5 coaching jobs, but both have stayed put. New Mexico is in a game bowl for the first time since 2007.
Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl: Utah (-2.5) vs. BYU
Saturday, December 19, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC)
Utah dodged BYU in the regular season because of the power of the Pac-12 slate, but there certainly won't be any love lost in Sin City between these two sides.
Raycom Media Camellia Bowl: Appalachian State (-8) vs. Ohio
Saturday, December 19, 5:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The Mountaineers have come a long way from being that I-AA team which upset No. 5 Michigan at the Big House. Now, they're in their first ever bowl game.
AutoNation Cure Bowl: Georgia State vs. San Jose State (-5)
Saturday, December 19, 7:00 p.m. ET (CBSSN)
Georgia State is playing in its first bowl game this year, and it comes against a San Jose State team which has to feel shafted over traveling across the country to reach its bowl destination.
R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl: Arkansas State vs. Louisiana Tech (-1)
Saturday, December 19, 9:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
After playing in the GoDaddy Bowl for four consecutive seasons, Arkansas State gets a change of scenery by going to the Bayou.
Miami Beach Bowl: South Florida vs. Western Kentucky (-4)
Monday, December 21, 2:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Willie Taggart just got a raise and an extension at South Florida, and ironically, his first game with his shiny new contract comes against the program he helped build at Western Kentucky.
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: Akron vs. Utah State (-6)
Tuesday, December 22, 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Boise isn't the ideal location for a MAC team to go to a bowl game, but for Akron, a team which has never won a bowl game and has only been to one in its history, anywhere will do.
Marmot Boca Raton Bowl: Temple (-1) vs. Toledo
Tuesday, December 22, 7:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
One of the more underrated games on the docket, Temple and Toledo both had New Year's Six aspirations as recently as a few weeks ago.
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl: Boise State (-8) vs. Northern Illinois
Wednesday, December 23, 4:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The argument could be made that Boise State and Northern Illinois have evolved into two of the quintessential Group of Five schools, but they've never met on the field against each other until now.
GoDaddy Bowl: Bowling Green (-7) vs. Georgia Southern
Wednesday, December 23, 8:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Two wild offenses will be on display here, as Bowling Green's high-octane spread attack will take on Georgia Southern's old school triple option.
Popeyes Bahamas Bowl: Middle Tennessee vs. Western Michigan (-2.5)
Thursday, December 24, 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Last year, the Bahamas Bowl was arguably the best of the bowl games. This year, P.J. Fleck gets to put his Broncos on display in his efforts to get a Power 5 job somewhere down the line.
Hawai'i Bowl: Cincinnati (-1) vs. San Diego State
Thursday, December 24, 8:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
SDSU's Donnel Pumphrey might be the best running back you haven't heard anything about this year. Keep an eye on him against a suspect Cincinnati defense which has a history of getting mauled in bowl games.
St. Petersburg Bowl: Marshall (-5) vs. Connecticut
Saturday, December 26, 11:00 a.m. ET (ESPN)
The Huskies were able to pull off some big upsets to upset the apple cart in the AAC, and that's why they've been rewarded for a trip to the Sunshine State for a bowl game.
Hyundai Sun Bowl: Miami vs. Washington State (-2.5)
Saturday, December 26, 2:00 p.m. ET (CBS)
Mark Richt will be watching on intently as his Hurricanes get ready for a battle against a high-flying Wazzu side which deserves a ton of credit for qualifying for a bowl game for just the second time since 2003.
Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl: Southern Miss vs. Washington (-8)
Saturday, December 26, 2:20 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Southern Miss has had a huge turnaround from a team which struggled to beat FCS teams just two seasons ago. A senior-laden team will be tremendously motivated against Washington.
New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Duke vs. Indiana (-1.5)
Saturday, December 26, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC)
Would you believe that Duke has been a bowl game for four straight seasons now for the first time in its history? The Blue Devils haven't won one since 1960 though, and they should be motivated to take out Indiana.
Camping World Independence Bowl: Tulsa vs. Virginia Tech (-14)
Saturday, December 26, 5:45 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Frank Beamer's farewell will come at the Independence Bowl against a Tulsa team which largely should be overmatched.
Foster Farms Bowl: Nebraska vs. UCLA (-6)
Saturday, December 26, 9:15 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Nebraska becomes one of the first 5-7 teams to go to a bowl game. You never know what you're going to get with either of these sides. UCLA and Nebraska can beat anyone, but both have laid eggs. Keep an eye on Josh Rosen in his first bowl game for the Bruins.
Military Bowl: Navy (-4) vs. Pittsburgh
Monday, December 28, 2:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
Pittsburgh has a lot going against it in this game, not the least of which is the fact that Navy is at home and bidding farewell to arguably its best player ever, Keenan Reynolds.
Quick Lane Bowl: Central Michigan vs. Minnesota (-5.5)
Monday, December 28, 5:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
If you think the Chippies can't win this game, just go back and watch the tape from their 24-13 loss to Oklahoma State on the opening day of the season. This defense is legit and could slow down the Gophers.
Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl: Air Force vs. California (-6)
Tuesday, December 29, 2:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Is this the last time we're going to see Jared Goff in a Cal uniform? He'll need a good showing against Air Force to impress NFL scouts.
Russell Athletic Bowl: North Carolina vs. Baylor (-3)
Tuesday, December 29, 5:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Both UNC and Baylor would've been in New Year's Six bowl games had they won on the final day of the regular season. Expect to see this be one of the highest scoring bowl games of the year.
Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl: Colorado State (-3) vs. Nevada
Tuesday, December 29, 7:30 p.m. ET (ASN)
It's flat out weird to see a bowl game not on national television featuring two teams from the same conference playing against each other.
AdvoCare v100 Texas Bowl: LSU (-7) vs. Texas Tech
Tuesday, December 29, 9:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
This will be a de facto home game for Texas Tech, but Les Miles and the gang have never been shy going anywhere for a bowl game.
Birmingham Bowl: Auburn (-3) vs. Memphis
Wednesday, December 30, 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Memphis has already beaten one SEC West team this year, and Auburn is a lot sorrier of a team than Ole Miss was. This could be the beginning of a very disappointing bowl season out of the SEC.
Belk Bowl: Mississippi State (-5) vs. North Carolina State
Wednesday, December 30, 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
NCSU is going to have a de facto home game here in Charlotte, and that makes this dangerous for the Bulldogs in what will be Dak Prescott's last game for Mississippi State.
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl: Louisville vs. Texas A&M (-3)
Wednesday, December 30, 7:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Louisville's recent history in bowl games has been great, winning and covering two of its last three. Last year's Belk Bowl against Georgia was awful though, and the Cards would love to get that memory out of their minds in Nashville.
National University Holiday Bowl: USC (-3) vs. Wisconsin
Wednesday, December 30, 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The Trojans really came on strong at the end of the year. They get to play in Southern Cal against a Big Ten team, but they're not at the Rose Bowl, so motivation could be an issue.
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Florida State (-6.5) vs. Houston
Thursday, December 31, 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
As it turns out, Florida State's trip against Georgia Tech didn't mean anything, as this would've been its bowl destination one way or the other. Houston won the AAC and was definitively the best team in the Group of Five this year, which is why it got the automatic bid to Atlanta for its first New Year's Six game.
Capital One Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Oklahoma (-3.5)
Thursday, December 31, 4:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Clemson is the only undefeated team in the nation and has been the top team in America ever since the CFP rankings started coming out. The fact that Oklahoma is favored by a comfortable margin in this game is a combination of a lot of respect for the Sooners and a lot of disrespect for the Tigers and the ACC in general.
Goodyear Cotton Bowl: Alabama (-10) vs. Michigan State
Thursday, December 31, 8:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The Crimson Tide are the odds on favorites to win the National Championship from here, but we don't see it. They struggled in the Sugar Bowl last year against Ohio State to get bounced out of the playoff, and they get a similarly built Michigan State team this year in the second national semifinal.
Outback Bowl: Northwestern vs. Tennessee (-8)
Friday, January 1, 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
The Volunteers surprised most by cracking the Top 25 at the end of the season, but let's not forget that Northwestern was one of the two teams good enough to beat Stanford this year as well.
Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl: Michigan (-4) vs. Florida
Friday, January 1, 1:00 p.m. ET (ABC)
Could there be a worse matchup for the struggling Florida offense than a stout Michigan defense which went through five straight games early in the year holding teams in single digits in scoring?
BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State (-6.5) vs. Notre Dame
Friday, January 1, 1:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Both of these teams definitively deserved their spot in the New Year's Six, but Notre Dame must be wondering what could've been had it beaten Stanford in its last game. The Irish have a fantastic history in bowl games under Brian Kelly, including pulling off a big upset of LSU last year in the Music City Bowl.
Rose Bowl Game: Iowa vs. Stanford (-7)
Friday, January 1, 5:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Iowa's quest at perfection came up just short in the Big Ten Championship Game, but there's reason to believe it can play with Stanford here in the Rose Bowl. The Hawkeyes haven't won the Granddaddy of them All since 1958 and will be tremendously motivated to be here.
Allstate Sugar Bowl: Ole Miss (-6.5) vs. Oklahoma State
Friday, January 1, 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Neither of these teams truly deserved to be in the New Year's Six, but both were the second best teams in their own conferences and were contractually obligated to come to New Orleans.
TaxSlayer Bowl: Georgia (-7) vs. Penn State
Saturday, January 2, 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Life without Mark Richt starts on January 2 for the Bulldogs, but they've got an uphill battle against a Penn State team which has just one bowl win since 2009.
AutoZone Liberty Bowl: Arkansas (-11) vs. Kansas State
Saturday, January 2, 3:20 p.m. ET (ESPN)
There are only two double-digit favorites in the undercard bowl games this year, and Arkansas is deserving of being the second one the way that it played down the stretch of the season in the tough SEC West.
Valero Alamo Bowl: TCU vs. Oregon (PK)
Saturday, 6:45 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Both TCU and Oregon were picked to be playoff contenders at the start of this season. Both tripped up a couple times in conference play, but both finished in the Top 20 in the land and are severely underrated by their rankings.
Motel 6 Cactus Bowl: Arizona State (-1) vs. West Virginia
Saturday, January 2, 10:15 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The last of the traditional bowl games this year pits two high-flying offenses against each other. Expect to see at least 100 pass attempts in this game.
College Football Playoff National Championship
Monday, January 11, 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The winner of the Alabama/Michigan State game will take on the winner of the Clemson/Oklahoma game for all the marbles in Glendale. Alabama is the odds-on favorite to win it all, followed by Oklahoma, Clemson and Michigan State.
