Alabama Crimson Tide at Texas AM Aggies betting on CBS Saturday

Another loss in the SEC West for the Alabama Crimson Tide would not only take them out of the chase for the SEC title in all likelihood, but it would also end any hopes they have of reaching the College Football Playoff. The Texas A&M Aggies would love to deal that killer blow on Saturday.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Crimson Tide are favored in this game, but the warning sign is definitely there that this game isn't going to be easy. They're favored by four on the road in College Station along with a relatively low total of 52.5. That total has already come flying up from the opening line of just 47.

KEY MISMATCH

Last year when these two teams met in Tuscaloosa, the Aggies had no answers for T.J. Yeldon and Derrick Henry, as they combined for 23 carries, 184 yards and three touchdowns. Matters would've been a lot worse as well if not for the fact that the game was a blowout from the get go and ended 59-0.

Yeldon might be gone, but Henry could be the best back in America, high praise considering how many awesome rushers are in the SEC alone this year. The Aggies have allowed 4.6 yards per carry in 2015, but it's not like they've seen a rusher quite this good. Alex Collins had 26 carries for 151 yards and a score when Arkansas played against A&M, and to us, that's a sign that Henry might be unstoppable in this game.

KEY STAT

9 – The number of turnovers the Alabama offense has had in its three SEC games this year to date. If the Tide could just hold onto the football, they'd be in a heck of a lot better shape, but against an opportunistic Texas A&M defense, that's a tough task, particularly on the road.

BETTING ANGLE

Can you believe that the Crimson Tide are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall? They were underdogs for the first time in three seasons against Georgia, a game which of course ended in a 38-10 romp, but that was the only cover they've come up with since crushing Wisconsin in the opening game of the season.

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

This game isn't going to be 59-0 like it was last year, nor will Alabama be +430 in the yardage department like it was last year, but we don't think this one is going to be all that close.

Henry is going propel himself into the Heisman Trophy conversation in this one, as it wouldn't surprise us if he ended up with over 200 yards on the ground.

Kyle Field is a tough place to play, and Kyle Allen has surely been impressive, but the oddsmakers know that this is coming after watching the Aggies struggle with both Arkansas and Mississippi State to kick off SEC play. A&M's run as a Top 10 team is over with once and for all.
