Auburn Tigers at LSU Tigers live betting on CBS Saturday

The struggle was certainly real for the Auburn Tigers last week against Jacksonville State. They did escape with a victory, but they dropped all the way to No. 18 in the AP Poll as a result. However, live bettors might find some value in backing them as underdogs in live betting against the LSU Tigers on Saturday.

WHEN THE AUBURN TIGERS HAVE THE BALL

Jeremy Johnson has to figure out how to hold onto the football at this point. He's made some awful throws this season which have literally ended being put right in the hands of defenders, something which just shouldn't happen at this level and can't happen in this game if Auburn is to have any shot of winning this one.

Johnson has five picks, but he has shown the ability to make big plays, too. Gus Malzahn is going to keep this game up-tempo, and he has had massive success doing so against the Bayou Bengals as a result. The Tigers did win this game 41-7 last year, and the Malzahn offense put up 566 total yards along the way.

LSU's defense hasn't been tested yet this year, though holding Dak Prescott and Mississippi State to 19 points and 337 yards was remotely impressive, especially for a game in Starkville.

That said, the advantage here goes to the Auburn offense for live betting purposes, because you never know when this team is going to roll off eight plays and 80 yards in two minutes to put up six points.

WHEN THE LSU TIGERS HAVE THE BALL

The LSU offense is going to end up being the antithesis of the Auburn offense. The Bayou Bengals are going to run the ball whenever they can with Leonard Fournette and hope that they can bury the game that way.

Fournette had 28 carries, and the running backs in totality had 42 totes of the rock against Mississippi State. Fournette rumbled for 159 yards and three touchdowns along the way.

If the Auburn defense struggled mightily against Jacksonville State and its power sweep options out of the shotgun, Fournette could be in for a huge day in this one.

The key is going to be making it so Brandon Harris doesn't have to throw the ball that much. He only went 9-of-14 for 71 yards last week in Starkville, and asking him to throw it much more than 20 times could be catastrophic for LSU.

If Auburn gets out to a lead in this game, the Bayou Bengals need to be very careful. Live bettors might find that a tiny lead for the visitors might turn into a big one in a hurry.

TREND TO TRACK

Auburn's ATS marks of late have been atrocious, and that's the one reason we are hesitant about blindly suggesting to play it from start to finish.

That said, you're not going to get an overlay like this one every single week. Had the Tigers done what they were supposed to do last week and put Jacksonville State away by a comfortable margin, they probably would only be underdogs by about a field goal in this game.

That said, Auburn is just 1-5 ATS in its last six games in SEC play, and it is 0-6 ATS in its last six against teams with winning records. The Tigers have also failed to cover seven straight games overall dating back to last season.
