The Nevada Wolfpack and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are glad to see each other, because it means someone is going to get a win. Nevada is winless on the season through five games while Hawaii has lost three in a row after a 2-0 start. The Rainbow Warriors have to hit the road for this one in Week 6 but they are the favorites to capture this conference contest.
Nevada is an underdog but not a huge one as it hopes to finally pick up its first victory of 2017. The Wolfpack is struggling on both sides of the ball and the hope is that the offense can pick it up to help pull off the upset. Hawaii is still in the mix for a bowl game, and this would be a big win.
This contest in Week 6 of the regular season will go down Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 10:30 p.m. ET at Mackay Stadium.

Odds Analysis
Hawaii is the road favorite and more than 60 percent of the wagers are on the Rainbow Warriors to cover. It’s not a surprise considering Nevada’s struggles so far this year.
The oddsmakers expect a shootout in this one as there isn’t a lot of talent on either defense. The scoring total is high but seems accurately placed as about half of the action is both on the “over” and the “under.”
Hawaii is the -185 favorite to win this game on the moneyline. Nevada is getting most of the action to win straight up as the odds of +160 would be a nice payout.
Key Stat
36.8. That’s how many points a game Nevada is allowing this year. The team ranks 116th in the country in that category and must improve if it wants to avoid dropping to 0-6 this week.
The Wolfpack has struggled greatly against the pass this season, giving up 334 yards per game. Hawaii’s offense is pretty balanced so Nevada will have its hands full all night.
Hawaii’s defense is actually performing worse than Nevada with the Rainbow Warriors allowing 37.6 points per game, but its offense is more high-powered. This one is definitely looking like it will be a shootout.
Player To Watch
Diocemy Saint Juste -- Hawaii’s senior running back is the go-to guy out of the backfield and he’s a game-changer for the Rainbow Warriors. Saint Juste has accumulated 651 yards on 119 carries with three touchdowns so far this season.
He is averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Saint Juste had season-high 202 yards on the ground in Hawaii’s win over Western Carolina on September 2nd. He also had 154 rushing yards against UCLA a few weeks ago including a long of 66 yards.
Saint Juste will no doubt be the workhorse again this game and presents a big problem for the Nevada defense.
Free ATS Pick
Nevada has looked really poor this season, being unable to grab a win and losing most of the games by double digits. However, Hawaii is not much better and comes to town on a three-game losing streak, including a 30-point loss to Colorado State last time out.
This one could be all about turnovers, as both offenses figure to be able to move the ball. The Wolfpack isn’t going to have a great crowd behind it, but it’s a big advantage just being at home and not having to travel all the way to Hawaii. The Warriors instead will have to take the long flight, and that is something to consider.
In a game that seems like a tough one to peg, it’s smarter to have the points on your side. Choose Hawaii to sneak out a win in this one, but for the Wolfpack to cover the spread. The “over” is the easy play.
