The Oklahoma State Cowboys know what they need to do to win football games. Oklahoma State is an offense first team that needs to score in order to feel confident about its chances for success in a game. The Cowboys have the best offense in the country and have won shootouts all throughout Mike Gundy’s tenure in Stillwater. This week, OSU will travel east to face a team that has given them trouble with their brand of football. The West Virginia Mountaineers have constantly reinvented themselves under coach Dana Holgorsen and have one of the best offenses in the country too.
This matchup in Week 9 of the regular season will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017,
at 12 p.m. ET at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, West Virginia This game will be broadcast on ABC.

Odds Analysis
Oklahoma State started off the season strong against the number. The Cowboys won and covered their first three games, all non-conference, with ease, blowing out opponents left and right. However, the dynamic changed once they got into Big 12 play. Oklahoma State is 1-3 ATS in Big 12 games this year.
The Mountaineers have only played one game with a total of less than 66 this season. West Virginia has blown the total out of the water all year long and has seen the over cash consistently. Over is 5-1-1 in WVU games this season and every game has had a minimum of 55 total points.
Matchup to Watch
These are two of the best offenses in the country. Oklahoma State has the top offense in the nation in terms of yards per game. The Cowboys are averaging 590.1 yards per game this season, and no quarterback has been better than Mason Rudolph when it comes to picking up big chunks of yards through the air. He is on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards this season and is averaging almost 11 yards a throw.
Rudolph has the best receiver in the country at his disposal too. No one has been better than James Washington this year. Washington is averaging 24.1 yards per reception and should break the 1,000-yard mark in this game. He is a big play superstar that no team has been able to stop all season. He should have a big game against a West Virginia team that is one of the worst in the country at stopping the pass.
Player to Watch
Will Grier might be the most underrated quarterback in the country at this point. The Florida transfer has surpassed expectations since arriving in Morgantown and has been the catalyst for the Mountaineers all year long. He is averaging 9.2 yards per attempt this year and has 26 touchdowns compared to just five interceptions.
Holgorsen’s offense only works with a competent quarterback and Grier has been just that. Although he does make the occasional mistake, he is deadly most of the time he is on the field. Additionally, he is a competent runner. He has moved the chains with his feet most of the season in Morgantown and has been great when scrambling outside the pocket.
Free ATS Pick
It seems almost too easy to predict this game to be a high-scoring shootout where the last team that holds the ball wins. However, there is a big difference between these two teams. While Oklahoma State at least has the semblance of a defense, West Virginia does not. The Cowboys defense has been pretty solid this season, while the Mountaineers are a dumpster fire.
That will be the reason why Oklahoma State pulls out a victory on the road in this one. Rudolph and Washington will torch this secondary and the Cowboys defense will get enough stops to pull out a win.
