Notable Line Movement
Western Kentucky ( -6.5 ) vs. Memphis
We're starting to see Sharp vs. Square action in the Boca Raton Bowl, and ironically, it's Memphis who seems to be the public team. A relatively sizeable 58 percent of the wagers have been on the Tigers in this game, but they have risen from +5 to +6.5 over the course of the last week, a sure sign that Western Kentucky is a smart play here. It's going to be tough to lay points for sure in this game, knowing that this is projected to be one of the highest scoring games of the entire bowl season, but at least if you believe in sharp action, this might be one of the better spots on the entire betting board.
BYU ( -10 ) vs. Wyoming
The Cougars are up to double-digit favorites over Wyoming, as the common believe suggests that they should have no problems preparing for a relatively basic power running football team. The Cowboys are going to need to pull a few rabbits out of their hat offensively if they ultimately want a shot in the Poinsettia Bowl. Brian Hill isn't going to win this game by himself. But what's worth remembering is that BYU hasn't played against a really good team in basically two months.
Minnesota ( OTB ) vs. Washington State
We would be remiss if we didn't mention the Holiday Bowl. Minnesota has suspended 10 players for this game, and that caused the rest of the team to effectively go on strike. The Golden Gophers are back at practice after threatening to not play this game, and ever since that threat, the Holiday Bowl odds have been off the board. How will Minnesota respond when it finally gets on the ground in San Diego? That remains to be seen and is going to make this game the toughest on the board to handicap in our eyes. At last check, the Golden Gophers were +7.
