College Football Odds - Big 10 College Football Roundup - Week 10

2016-NCAAF-Big-10-Roundup-Betting-Odds

The Big Ten conference continues to heat up as we head down the final stretch of the season. Michigan is in control of their own destiny, if they win out they will win the title and represent the conference in the BCS Playoffs, but they have to beat arch rival Ohio State and get by Iowa on the road. Penn State also has a chance with help from the Buckeyes, who they beat and own the tiebreaker over. A total of seven or eight teams will see bowl action and possibly two teams could actually represent the conference in the BCS. This week two games stand out. Nebraska meets the Buckeyes at the Horseshoe and Wisconsin travels to Evanston to face northwestern in a game that may decide the Big Ten West.

Last week Wisconsin earned a huge win against Nebraska to knock the Cornhuskers from their perch and Ohio State snuck by Northwestern to keep their hopes alive. The Wolverines squeaked by intra-state rival Michigan State to remain undefeated and Indiana got a much needed win against Maryland that will help their bowl chances.

BIG 10 GAME OF THE WEEK

Saturday, November 5, 2016

Nebraska Cornhuskers +17.5 at Ohio State Buckeyes -17.5, Total 51.5

Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio Stadium - 8:00 p.m., ET - ABC

All-Time Series Record - Ohio State 3-1

This line opened at 13.5 and I thought that was a lot of points, but then the line rocketed to 17. I don’t know if the Buckeyes have enough firepower on offense to cover the big number. They are due to score some points but their erratic line play is a concern. The Buckeyes are young and play a total of 30 freshman and their inexperience has showed up in recent weeks. Nebraska will put points on the board and the Buckeyes offense is due to put up a crooked number, leading me to wager on the OVER. Buckeyes win, 45-28.

Wisconsin Badgers -6.5 at Northwestern Wildcats +6.5, Total 40.5

Ryan Field, Evanston, Illinois - Noon, ET - ABC

All-Time Series Record - Wisconsin 57-35-5

This is a huge game in the Big ten West. Whoever wins has the inside track to win the division. Of course they need a little help to catch Nebraska who remains on top, but in the end, whoever wins this game is in great position to reach the Championship game. Wisconsin has a great defense and will score enough points to secure the win against the undersized Wildcats. Wisconsin 24, Northwestern 20.

Indiana Hoosiers -14 at Rutgers Scarlet Knights +14, Total 56

High Point Solutions Stadium, Piscataway, New Jersey - Noon, ET - BTN

All-Time Series Record - Rutgers 2-0

The Hoosiers got a huge win last week against Maryland and have the better team and athletes then Rutgers does. This game will be closer than you think, but Indiana will get the win. Indiana wins, 31 - 23.

Michigan State Spartans at Illinois Fighting Illini, Total

Memorial Stadium, Champaign, Illinois - Noon, ET - ESPNews

All-Time Series Record - Michigan State 26-17-2

There is no line for this game due to the status of Illinois quarterback Wes Lunt. Sparty is having a horrible season with just two wins but will clobber the pathetic Fighting Illini. Michigan State wins by two touchdowns.

Maryland Terrapins +31 at Michigan Wolverines -31, Total 54

Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan - 3:30 p.m., ET - ESPN

All-Time Series Record - Michigan 4-1

Michigan will run the score up on anybody and this week is no different. They will score at least 28 in the first half and roll the Terrapins. The Wolverines remain unbeaten, 49 - 17. Take the OVER!

Purdue Boilermakers +17 at Minnesota Gophers -17, Total 57

TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota - 3:30 p.m., ET - BTN

All-Time Series Record - 36-32-3

Two bad teams, although the Gophers have shown some light as of late. Purdue is in total confusion and already are looking to next year. Minnesota wins, 38 - 21.

Iowa Hawkeyes +7 at Penn State Nittany Lions -7, Total 53

Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA. - 7:30 p.m., ET - BTN

All-Time Series Record - Penn State 13-12

Beaver stadium will be rocking Saturday night as the Nittany Lions look to keep their season in tact when they square off against the pesky Hawkeyes. The only way Iowa can keep this one close is by allowing their defense to control the game. Iowa’s offense has struggled but if they can avoid turnovers they may force an upset. The game total of 53 looks too high and why I am putting my money on the UNDER. Iowa keeps it close in a defensive battle.
