After the Week 10 Big Ten ballgames, the conference is a complete mess. Iowa Stunned Ohio State and Michigan State upset Penn State leaving Wisconsin as the only team with real BCS chances. If Ohio State runs the table and then beats Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game, NO teams will make the playoffs. It’s a shame for arguably the toughest conference in all of college football.

Iowa handed Urban Meyer his worst loss of his career, 55-24, in a game they dominated from start to finish. Michigan State kicked a last second field goal to end Penn State’s hope. In other games. Wisconsin rolled Indiana, 45-17. Northwestern won in overtime for the second consecutive week, nipping Nebraska, 31-24. Michigan pounded Minnesota to improve to 7-2, Rutgers picked up their third Big Ten win of the year by beating Maryland and Purdue beat Illinois 29-10.

The season is winding down with only three weeks left and this week’s Michigan State at Ohio State game is the feature game. Whoever wins, takes a step closer to representing the East in the championship game. Wisconsin welcomes Iowa in a huge game in the West and Michigan tries to keep pace by traveling East to take on Maryland.

Let’s take a look at all the week 10 Big Ten games.

Big 10 Game of the Week

Saturday, November 11, 2017

Michigan State Spartans +14.5 at Ohio State Buckeyes -14.5, Total 55

Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio - Noon, ET - FOX

All-time series record: Ohio State 30-15-0

The Buckeyes were crushed last week at Iowa, 55-24, handing Urban Meyer his worst defeat as an Ohio State coach. Now they face a Michigan State team that upset Penn State last week and have been a thorn in Ohio State’s side in the past. Really, 16 points. That’s alot! Let’s face it, Ohio State is or was overrated and Michigan State is underrated. Sparty will keep this game close and 16 points is way too many.

Other Big 10 Games for Saturday, November 11, 2017

Iowa Hawkeyes +12 at Wisconsin Badgers -12, Total 46

Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wisconsin - 3:30 p.m., ET - ABC

All-time series record: Wisconsin 45-43-2

This will be Wisconsin’s biggest test of the year but have two things working for them; homefield and Iowa coming off a big win at home against Ohio State. The Hawkeyes could come out flat and if they do it will be an uphill battle against a really good Badgers defense. The Hawkeyes got their huge win last week and return back to reality this week with an embarrassing loss on the road. Wisconsin wins, 31 - 14.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights +31 at Penn State Nittany Lions -31, Total 52.5

Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA. - Noon, ET - BT

All-time series record: Penn State 25-2-0

If the weather cooperates, this game should be a high scoring affair. Penn State will be fired up after losing their two previous games and Rutger earned their third conference win of the year last week against Maryland. I was thinking the total should be closer to 60, I mean Ohio State put up 56 on the Scarlet Knights a few weeks ago. I think the Nittany Lions put up close to 50 on their own and cruise to a victory. Penn State rolls 52 - 21. I love the OVER!

Michigan Wolverines -15.5 at Maryland Terrapins +15.5, Total 47.5

Capital One Field, College Park, Maryland - 3:30 p.m., ET - BTN

All-time series record: Michigan 5-1-0

This total seems low too. Yah, I know, Michigan has one of the best defenses in the country, but Maryland has home field and the strength of their team is on the offensive side of the ball. They will put up some points this week and so will the Wolverines on the shabby Terps defense. Michigan wins, 35 - 20.

Purdue Boilermakers +6 at Northwestern Wildcats -6, Total 47

Ryan Field, Evanston, Illinois - 7:00 p.m., ET - ESPN2

All-time series record: Purdue 50-30-1

Northwestern is off back-to-back overtime wins and now face a struggling Purdue team that has lost their three of their past four games. It’s plain and simple - the Wildcats have home field and the better team led by signal caller Clayton Thorsen. The Boilermakers are in a funk on the offensive side of the ball and will find it difficult to move the ball on the quick Northwestern defensive unit. In the end, Northwestern wins by double-digits.

Indiana Hoosiers -9 at Illinois Fighting Illini +9, Total 49

Memorial Stadium, Champaign, Illinois - Noon, ET - BTN

All-time series record: Illinois 45-23-0

Both teams are winless in the conference so something's gotta give. Indiana has the better team but the Illini have home field for whatever that’s worth. Obviously, both teams haven’t figured out how to win ballgames, but Indiana has played other teams much closer and are going to win this game. Indiana 27, Illinois 18.

Nebraska Cornhuskers +3 at Minnesota Gophers -3, Total 48.5

TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota - Noon, ET - FS1

All-time series record: Minnesota 31-24-2

Three games are left on Mike Riley’s coaching career at Nebraska, then the search begins, or maybe it already has. I will give Riley some credit - his teams have played hard for him on a weekly basis and I think they will play hard this week and upset the Gophers. Cornhuskers win!
