College Football Odds - Big 10 College Football Roundup - Week 8

2016-Big-10-Roundup-Bet-Online

The first real big upset occurred last week when Penn State upset the Buckeyes as nearly a three touchdown underdog. The win put the Michigan Wolverines in control of their own destiny. If Michigan wins out, they will win the Big Ten East, however, if the Buckeyes beat Michigan and Penn State loses another game, Ohio State will claim the title.

In the Big Ten West, Nebraska is undefeated and firmly control of the race with a one game edge over Northwestern and two clear of the next closest. The Cornhuskers haven’t played anyone but get their first real test this week when they travel to Madison to take on the Badgers in the Big Ten game of the week.

BIG 10 GAME OF THE WEEK

Saturday, October 29, 2016

Nebraska Cornhuskers +9 at Wisconsin Badgers -9, Total 43

Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wisconsin - 7:00 p.m., ET - ESPN

All-time Series Record: Wisconsin 6-4, including last three matchups

Nebraska is 7-0 for the first time since 2001 and are ranked No. 7 in the country, but let’s be real, they haven’t played anyone and after this week everyone will know that they are highly overrated. This is a huge game in determining who wins the division. The Cornhuskers have a two game lead over the Badgers, so it’s win or go home time for Wisconsin. They need a win in order to stay in the race.

This game is going to be another Big Ten defensive battle with both teams playing the field position game until one of them make a mistake. Nebraska is going to get exposed, big-time. They have squeaked by Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana and Purdue so far this year and now face a Wisconsin squad that is playing at home and hungry for a win. Wisconsin wins, 23-14.

Michigan Wolverines -24 at Michigan State Spartans +24, Total 54

Spartan Stadium, East Lansing, Michigan - Noon, ET - ESPN

All-time Series Record: Michigan 68-35-5, MSU has won last three meetings.

Wow, when was the last time Michigan was favored by 24 points against intrastate rival Michigan State. But there is huge revenge for Wolverine head coach Jim Harbaugh in this matchup. Michigan looks like the cream of the crop in the conference, but funny things happen in these type of games. The Spartans look terrible this year and with another loss will be out of the bowl picture. The public will be all over the Wolverines, but somehow, some way the Spartans will cover.

Northwestern Wildcats +27 at Ohio State Buckeyes -27, Total 53

Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio - 3:30 p.m., ET - ESPN

All-time Series Record: Ohio State 60-14-1, including last five meetings

I feel sorry for the Wildcats this week, having to travel to the Horseshoe to take on the Buckeyes who are reeling after their first loss of the year. The Wildcats have been playing well in conference competition and putting up points. They may put up some points but Ohio State is going to get their offense figured out and put up close to 50 on their own making the OVER an easy winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Penn State Nittany Lions -13 at Purdue Boilermakers +13, Total 56

Ross-Ade Stadium, West Lafayette, Indiana - Noon, ET - ABC

All-time Series Record: Penn State 13-3-1, including last seven meetings

This lined opened with the Nittany Lions favored by 13, then dropped to 11 and now moved to the current line of 13. Penn State is coming off a huge win against Ohio State, while Purdue fired their coach two weeks ago, but played Nebraska tough last week and may surprise at home this week. Take the DOG!

Minnesota Gophers -9 at Illinois Fighting Illini +9, Total 48

Memorial Stadium, Champaign, Illinois - Noon, ET - BTN

All-time Series Record: Minnesota 36-29-3

This is a battle of two awful teams. When it doubt, take the home team and the points.

Maryland Terrapins +5 at Indiana Hoosiers -5, Total 57

Memorial Stadium, Bloomington, Indiana - 3:30 p.m., ET - BTN

All-time Series Record; Indiana 3-1-0

This is my pick of the week. The Hoosiers are going to win this game by double-digits. They are going to finally put it all together on both sides of the ball and hammer the under-sized Terrapins.

Teams on BYE - Iowa and Rutgers

Two-Team Parlay of the week:

OVER 53 Ohio State

And

Indiana -5
